The Marlins are idiots. Albies has about twice the amount of surplus value as Realmuto. Ok, may be that's exaggerating, but still. They are insane if they think they could actually get that for a catcher with 2 years remaining, especially in a market with several quality catchers available.

This is them trying to compensate for the returns they got the other offseason in the Stanton,Osuna,Yelich trades....However, I don't think this is the right player to ask for that kind of package.

Given the options in trade or FA market, i think Markakis would have to be a last resort move. Or i guess if he'd sign as a 4th outfielder/bench bat, you could a lot worse.
