Passing up real position player upgrades to add another 2 win pitcher when they already have a half dozen young guys who could produce 2 wins? Why?

It seems clear now that "The Plan" was to minimize risk this off season with 1 year deals while putting the best team possible on the field. Prospects would only have been traded in the case of an extreme value add.

Looks like AA wants 1 more season to see what the young pitchers become.

It is like the Lakers and Acuña is our LeBron with handing out all of these one year deals. AA must have NBA League Pass because he is emulating what Magic Johnson did this past NBA off-season.

The franchise was sold between the time Stanton signed his deal and the time new ownership dealt him - a rather important point.
 
Realmuto would be perfect cleanup hitter on this team. Now we got Markakis to hit cleanup we don't need JTR. AA is a genius!!!

You can increase expected OPS at a hitting position by close to 100 points against the majority of SPs if you get Joc, while making a major upgrade to your bench. And Markakis was pretty clear that he's here because this is where his family wants to be.
 
Leave Gio alone please! Sign Marwin and call it an off-season if it has come to signing cheaters! Gio is a polar opposite example of "The Braves Way", Mac would probably tell the hitters what pitch is coming like in the movie Bull Durham.
 
I really, really think we are going all in on either Machado or Harper. It’s the only explanation as to why we have sit on our hands like this.

I personally don’t like either player for the clubhouse. I think if that happens they turn around and do a mega deal with Cleveland. The Indians want to compete now and having say Ender and Newk + prospects close to the big leagues would be a perfect fit for them.

You're not "getting rid of Julio and O'Day" without eating significant money - since that's the case, you can't "free up" $20 million that way.
