This is why I hate the idea of robot umps. Framing is a skill that has been taught and used for decades. And now (thanks in part to FG) it's a quantifiable skill. Robot umps would make this skill obsolete and this bothers me tremendously.
I'm less bothered by the thought that balls and strikes would be accurate.
Ah - Dansby is starting tonight. I really wish he was resting his wrist... just to be safe.
Ender, JD, Freeman, Young King, Markakis, Albies, Mac, Swanson, GOAT
Lots to look forward to in this game. Can Ozzie and Dansby get it going, can Donaldson and Acuna start to take off, can Fried provide us with a quality start. Even after the sweep in Philly, I'm starting to become far more optimistic about this team, especially with Gausman, Folty, and Soroka coming back at some point in the next few weeks.

Kinda feel like Ozzie and Dansby have been going. Am I off there?
Anyone see Ron Kulpa during the Astros game last night? Dude should be suspended at least.
I mean over the course of a game, how often is the call wrong? May be some games are worse than others, but I'd be willing to bet the percentages are pretty low from game to game. Personally, I would rather not lose the human aspect of balls and strikes, as well as seeing an entire skill set go by the wayside.
This is out of my ass, but if the difference between the best and worst pitch framers works out to be something like five calls a game, then maybe umps miss 10+ per game?
Like whoa.
These guys are out of control.

Another aspect to consider might be the changes to the catching position that result from not having to present the pitch to the umpire.
For example, with nobody on base, does the catcher even need to catch the ball...or be there at all?
That doesn’t even explain the half of it. He actually blocked Gerritt Cole from throwing warm up pitches and got in his face a couple of times. Child.
WUT
He should be fired. Immediately.
BR did a top 50 prospects list, Pache/Riley/Touki/Wright/Anderson were on it from the Braves.
I need to google this guy. I didn’t see any of it.
