GDT 5/26 Braves vs Cards

Is it just a coincidence that Enscheff always goes after the states with the highest population density of black people? Calling them dumb and poor and saying good riddance to them.

:FrediPuzzled:

I think he hates white and black southerners equally

And yet he’s a Braves fan.....
Dumbest people I’ve ever met vote for Democrats; and have ugly ass wives and daughters... and don’t know the first damn thing about Spanish moss on a Saturday night with Waylon playing on the radio with the tailgate down.

Or playing Alan Jackson on the radio while fishing for catfish, lg mouth bass, or fly fishing for trout. Spending a Sat afternoon or Sun afternoon at a NASCAR track. Those are the things that make life easier and more enjoyable. Missed all that while working in Nev at a major casino.

I dropped sweet tea 3 months ago and I've lost almost 50 lbs. The only other thing I did was limit my carbs to 30g per day. Never going back to that ****. Its almost impossible to stay healthy while drinking it.

It is really, really good though.
I was born in the south and live in the south and sweet tea is trash. Arnold Palmer is the only way I’ll drink it.

This is dumb.

Even the two poorest states in the country- Mississippi and West Virginia (arguably the South)- have higher gross household income (PPP) than other rich nations like Canada, New Zealand, and the Netherlands. Clearly they have some idea of what they're doing on the econ side.

You are a very smart baseball guy, but you prove your economic knowledge is grossly inadequate when you denigrate an entire swath of the richest country on Earth.

I look forward to you updating us on where your brilliance in economics takes you. If you are more than a middle manager at Walmart I will be very surprised. It is amusing reading you regurgitate the most recent topic you read about in your community college econ courses though haha. So adorable!!

Rich by association with the US is not the same as being a contributor. The South is a net drain on the US, and the only thing the region contributes is a never ending supply of bigoted ideas.

If your boy loses in 2020 part of the South's temper tantrum will be calls for secession. The rest of country will be more than happy to see it happen. You guys will be free to treat women, gays and minorities as terribly as you see fit...and continue being fat, ignorant, poor, and illiterate.

I agree with Scheff on a lot of things, but I do think that rhetoric like this is a mistake. Not from a factual standpoint, as he's mostly right, but from a tactical standpoint. You'd think that someone who viewed the south in this way would either be more empathetic to the circumstances that led to such misery or attempt to take steps to pry them from the dark ages to the 21st century (as Scheff would see it).

Railing on the south and people from the south, basically calling them dumb****s, has the same effect as an antifa protestor at a Shapiro speech or a militant pro-life advocate outside an abortion clinic. It just pushes the opposition further into their corner. I think something can be both true, cruel, and counterproductive at the same time and I think this post is a good example of that.

I know that one post on a niche message board is meaningless and has basically no effect, but I'm just saying this is something pretty widespread that I think probably needs to change culturally.

I remember the political board during the Kavanaugh hearing and it was just relentless ideological vomiting on each other when literally nobody knew anything at all. It was kinda fun in 2016, but I'm kinda sick of the meme at this point.

That type of rhetoric could lead to someone like Donald Trump being elected.

Anyone who degrades another class of people is a bigot. Don’t respond. Anyone who pretends to degrade another class of humans is just making troll statements to goat you into something silly. Don’t respond. Seriously Gus. Stop get so worked up over interweb comments.

You don't know the first thing about me outside of a few posts on a baseball message board, which I don't take very seriously. For me, this board is a place to relax, shoot the **** about the Braves, and joke around. You view it as some battleground where you must prove your intellectual might. It's really bizarre.

Also- insulting my station in life (which you don't even know) and community colleges (I didn't attend one, but have no problem with those who did/do) in one fell swoop? Who do you think you are? I am surprised nobody has knocked your teeth out before. How pathetic are you.

I did not vote for Trump. I think he's nails on a chalkboard and bad for the country, so you are as presumptuous as you are naive and economically illiterate. The women, gays, and minorities talking point is absolute garbage and I find it extremely offensive that you chastise the entire Southland with your dense stereotype. Of course there are crazies, but there are also good and rational people down here.

For the record: I would run circles around you in a classroom, as you can't seem to fit an ounce of nuance into that thick skull of yours. Actually, judging by your posts on here, you wouldn't even be in a classroom. You'd be stuffed in a locker every morning because your EQ is so incredibly low.

This is 100% correct, and is something the Libs still haven’t learned. Me poking fun at southerners on a board mostly frequented by southerners is internet nonsense. Unfortunately, those with real aspirations of winning power and affecting change simply haven’t figured out the point you understand and articulated perfectly in a dozen words.

A couple crazies? Your boy has massive approval ratings all throughout the South.

You wouldn’t run circles around me in anything except going back on your word, silly Taylor. Come talk to me when you have your degrees in physics and computer science, or even just one real degree like that. Sorry, but your comms degree isn’t impressing anyone except your D1 daddy who supposedly taught you everything you know about athletes.

I wouldn’t let either of you run circles in my classroom. Seems disruptive to my lesson plan, and generally counter-productive.

I never said "a couple crazies"- I said "Of course there are crazies", which is a massive difference. Trump's approval % is what- 60ish% at the highest in any Southern state? That's 40% of the population you are condemning- many of whom are African-American. Not a good look. And again- I am comfortable enough to know I don't need to brag about my academic bona fides on a baseball message board.

However, if I wanted to sling mud, it wouldn't be hard. You live in low cost, majority-Republican Nevada, right? I'd have figured a man with such a capable brain would be able to command a salary affording you the luxury of living in London, San Francisco or New York.

It's nice that you have a degree in Physics and Computer Science- so do many other people, though. Some are working for elite companies in Silicon Valley, Silicon Alley, or in smaller markets like Boston and Chicago. There are other areas where people can excel, as well. Lawyers, doctors, engineers, artists- many are brilliant in their own way. You fit best at some small, niche company that can hide you in a room while you code and look up baseball stats all day. Nothing wrong with that- be the best at what you do. But don't sit here and hurl invective thinking everyone is going to just take it. Lots of smart people in the world with egos and pride.

And don't worry- I'm sure Las Vegas will get an MLB team soon after the Raiders and Golden Knights are a smashing success and the Atlanta fan base may be lucky enough to be rid of you.

Don't mind Enscheff, I've dealt with keyboard ninjas like him before, of course usually they root for the other team but if he had the balls to grace us dip spittin', catfishin', deer hunting rednecks with his presence at a poster meeting at The Battery he'd be the 5'4" guy standing in the corner that has his hands in his pockets and doesn't say a word without being behind the security of his computer.
