We just got a crash course on why outfield defense is so important

All you have to do is look at what he does against sliders. He isn't lunging for them anymore. He's only swinging at sliders that hang up and he's murdering them on occasion. He's worked hard and has turned into an extremely important part of the team offensively and defensively... he's growth has been a huge deal.

that's really all it is. he was an easy out on them. now he mostly knows when/how to lay off of them

Dang... I just checked and we have 11 hitters who have an OPS of .750 or higher and 9 of those are either right at an .800 OPS or higher. For the National League, we have a really really potent offense.
