GDT 7/2/19: DK’s first home start

Pretty embarrassing performance by the offense. Good for Nola and he pitched well, but this was more terrible offense than great pitching.

This is probably the best Nola has looked all year. He's a good pitcher with his A+++++ stuff tonight and his A+++++ command. He might pitch this well two or three times a year. Sucks it's against us.

I hope he's dumb enough to let him go for the 120+ pitch complete game.

The way Nola has pitched tonight (and as strong as he was in the eighth inning), that may be a better option than letting us have a crack at their bullpen.

This was his third straight start of 8 IP 0-1 ER.

So I don't think it was, and I think this is Nola getting back to the "Ace Nola" of last year.

He's been good the previous 2 too. Nola is back in 2018 mode

Nola was throwing the ball into the catcher's mitt tonight. He is incapable of pitching better than he has tonight.

Good, but not this good. He smothered one of the best offenses in baseball with ease. I was watching the catcher's glove and it rarely had to move. This is the best Nola can pitch.

Freaking A, Riley. Send his ass down. Lol or just rest him more. Dude is killing us right now. #RegressionSux

Batting 6th....smh..Who had the most at bats tonight with runners on?
Oh ya....but it’s ok since Snit has a feeling in his gut and doesn’t like changing what’s been working.

If you look past the results at the underlying foundations, he began the year with 4 legitimately poor outings, and has since been back to ace form for 14 starts (tonight included), oft hidden by poor luck and defense.

We'll find out tomorrow night how much of this was Aaron Nola and how much of it was a bad approach by Braves hitters. Unless we can get to Neris, this will be our first two game losing streak in a while.

Man Chip sure did act as though that was a routine flyball.
It went to the edge of the warning track and he acted like it was a can of corn haha

Snit let Blevins face the rhh with power and now he's going to the rhp vs the rhh without power. Snit doesn't make a lot of sense
