REAL FOOTBALL Thread

lol at giles.

So giles is more of a fan over everyone else because he lives close to his teams?

And everyone else doesnt, makes no sense.

Def a better fan. Lol off fan of teams in NY, Fla, Kentucky, Georgia

Shows what your intentions as a fan are.

So because I'm a Lions fan, I must be a band wagoner because I don't live close... They are perennial Super Bowl winners, after all.

But the truth is, my grandfather grew up in Michigan, and when my dad was born in Virginia, he became a Lions fan because of his dad. And I became a Lions fan because of my dad.

I'm a Braves fan because they were on TBS growing up, so I could actually watch him.

Why are you a better fan if your team plays closer to you?

Bc my fandom is real and not just some phony let me pick who is good to root for.

Hmm, let me be a Lakers fan even tho I've never been to a game, never been to LA, and have no ties to the place. But, hey I can brag to my friends that I'm a lakers fan!

Who on here is a Lakers fan?

Oh wait, no one is.

I've already explained it.

Using your logic, you arent a real fan since the Braves arent in DC.

Or are you a Nats fan, going to admit that anytime?

Are you scared to explain why?

No maa'm.

I've already said why, i dont have to say why i like my teams.

Everyone has reasons why they do, you dont have to like teams where you live, there isnt a rule that says this.

I'm a fan of Roger Federer. He plays tennis for Switzerland, and has never played in the state of Georgia, let alone Savannah.

Guess I need to re-think my allegiance.

Well that AND your skin color is not white and only ones with white skin are allowed to like tennis.

Yeah, root for the best! Big Tiger Woods fan too?

I am a fan of Federer, because he plays the game like nobody has ever seen.

And for tennis, since the best players are the ones who are showcased on TV the most, it's not like we have any choice. Am I supposed to give my allegiance to John Isner despite the fact he's 7 foot tall, plays a different style of game that I play, and because he's an American? Tennis is not like team sports where you're forced to watch bad teams. There are plenty of players who aren't ranked as high as Federer that I like, but you can't watch them because in the USA it's all ratings and it's either going to be Federer, Nadal, Djokovic, Serena, Sharapova, or any American player on TV. They don't show foreign players playing other foreign players in quality matches unless it's a Quarterfinal, Seminfinal where it's mandatory.

How many people rooted for Michael Jordan that weren't Bulls fans? I've rooted for Peyton Manning as long as I've followed football. I never claimed to be a Colts or Broncos fan, but I specifically root for Peyton because of how he changes the game around him.

And I root(ed) for Tiger 10 years ago when he was dominant, because I had no utter interest in golf but he made it interesting and entertaining.
