The Trump Presidency

How do you reconcile companies making too much profit while also saying their product is too expensive for anyone to buy? Gilead for example, has basically eradicated Hep C. They dont make any more money on the drug bc there are no more patients left to cure.

These cures dont grow on ****ing trees. It takes billions of dollars and many years to get them to market. And on top of that, over 90% of drugs never make it to market.

You want these companies to risk billions of dollars with no upside of profiting from it?

The government will do it all more efficiently. Just like all other government run programs.

There is a tradeoff between incentives to speed up medical innovation and making medical care more widely available and affordable. Different countries will choose different points along that continuum. The same country will make different choices at different points in time. There is no "right" choice that is somehow determined by never changing principles.

Pompeo was in on the call with Ukraine.

Welp nsacpi there was a time a while ago when you said Pompeo was one of the few adults in the admin with any sort of brain to govern. Looks like he's been in-on Trump's swamp draining since forever.

It's worth mentioning again that this $#'tstorm is a 100% unforced error. There is zero political reason for Trump to still be obsessed with Biden and the Russia probe.

This is 100% wrong. He has orderred the justice department to learn about the origins of spygate.

Can someone helpe understand when and for what reasons a president can speak to another foreign leader?

Was Ukraine solicited for help by the prior administration? How about Italy? Australia? UK?

From what I gather there is nothing wrong with the request for info from Australia. It seems quite different from trying to strong arm Ukraine into manufacturing dirt on Biden.

Strongarm without them knowing the bargaining chip?

I've developed some doubts about Pompeo but am reassured that Seb Gorka is travelling to Rome with him.

Seems like quite a few people dont want anyone to research how the 2016 spying scandal started.

He would've been much better off not looking a gift horse in the mouth, with regards to his lucky break with the Mueller probe, which btw, clearly showed his guilt in several areas.

Continuing to obsess over it is one of the dumbest things he's done so far, and that's saying a lot.

A trustworthy president can speak to foreign leaders without worry.

Yes, there's sooooooo many billions they spend on developing insulin, a drugs that's been around for 100 years.....

Give me an effing break. Big pharma is nothing but a monopoly and you know it. 3 companies in the world control over 90 percent of the pharma industry.

freedom means some rich folks get to let people die while life saving medicine just sits

it's amazing
