We’ll see. Moose won’t replace his production either offensively or defensively so they’d have to go out and get somebody else like Ozuna. If Markakis is batting top 5 next year then the offseason was a failure.

Only way this makes sense is they're trying to trim the fat in less essential areas in order to reallocate those funds towards a starter at third since they spent on the bullpen.

Maybe but AA's focus seems to be more on a clean-up hitter than a pure 3B. I'd imagine he would be OK with a slugging OF as long as they slot in the clean-up spot.

Of course, we have a clean-up candidate in Acuna... but whatever.
