I can’t imagine the Yankees trading Judge.
Can we get 1000 words on a few trade scenarios involving him? So we have any affiliated writers available? Thanks!!
Maybe a Freddy Tarnok + William Contreras + Bryse Wilson deal would entice the Yankees? We could use him to sit either Nick or Ender vs lefties and have them come off the bench, but we would likely want him to start against righties as well. If that trade were made, and then we signed Michael Moustakas, our lineup would look like this:
vs RHP
RF Acuna
2nd Ozzie
1st Freddie
LF Judge
3rd Moose
C D'Arnaud
SS Dandsby
CF Ender
Vs. LHP
CF Acuna
2nd Ozzie
1st Freddie
RF Judge
LF Duvall
3rd Moose
C D'arnaud
SS Dansby
Against right handed pitchers you would want to sometimes get Nick in place of Ender and shift Acuna to CF. But Judge would be a massive impact to this lineup, even if you would have to figure out how to divide the ABs between Ender and Nick. In fact, it makes too much sense not to happen. I would even be willing to throw in another prospect to sweeten the deal. Maybe one of the guys in the Ynoa, Jenista, Weigel, Davidson, De La Cruz, Burrows, Trey Riley, Harris, Alexander, Hernandez, Graffanino, Owens, Dean, Delgado, Jackson, Brown, Philip, Ramos, Kalich, Vodnik category (literally just 10-30 on MLB Pipeline, minus Tarnok). I feel like this would at least get the Yankees attention, even if it doesn't fit the all-knowing surplus value model. But maybe it wouldn't, maybe we would have to upgrade Wilson to one of our big names like Kyle Wright or Anderson? Who knows? All I know is that what glitters is not always gold, and brevity is certainly not the soul of wit. But to be fair, who knows in that regard either? All I know is that there are more things in heaven and earth, Enscheff, than are dreamt of in your sabermetrics.
Will this suffice?
