Official Offseason Thread

I’ll also be sure to drop 10 names of guys who may get traded so I can come back and comment about being the first to mention the names if any of them end up being traded.

You guys have a weird love-hate relationship.

Reminds me of what Joker in TDK said to Batman about them doing this dance for many years. Batman just can't let Joker die on principle and Joker won't kill Batman because he's too much fun.

"The name Caleb Smith is someone we haven’t discussed here. At first glance he seems to be a cheaper Teheran, so hopefully AA is aiming higher."

Certainly wouldn't want you to miss your medal - make sure Smith falls under His Highness' column.

I’ll be back later to post 1000 words on something I can’t imagine happening that has nothing to do with the Braves.

Make sure to include Jonathon Villar in that post - you certainly haven't talked about him enough in the last two days.

I can’t imagine the Yankees trading Judge.

Can we get 1000 words on a few trade scenarios involving him? So we have any affiliated writers available? Thanks!!

Maybe a Freddy Tarnok + William Contreras + Bryse Wilson deal would entice the Yankees? We could use him to sit either Nick or Ender vs lefties and have them come off the bench, but we would likely want him to start against righties as well. If that trade were made, and then we signed Michael Moustakas, our lineup would look like this:

vs RHP

RF Acuna
2nd Ozzie
1st Freddie
LF Judge
3rd Moose
C D'Arnaud
SS Dandsby
CF Ender

Vs. LHP

CF Acuna
2nd Ozzie
1st Freddie
RF Judge
LF Duvall
3rd Moose
C D'arnaud
SS Dansby

Against right handed pitchers you would want to sometimes get Nick in place of Ender and shift Acuna to CF. But Judge would be a massive impact to this lineup, even if you would have to figure out how to divide the ABs between Ender and Nick. In fact, it makes too much sense not to happen. I would even be willing to throw in another prospect to sweeten the deal. Maybe one of the guys in the Ynoa, Jenista, Weigel, Davidson, De La Cruz, Burrows, Trey Riley, Harris, Alexander, Hernandez, Graffanino, Owens, Dean, Delgado, Jackson, Brown, Philip, Ramos, Kalich, Vodnik category (literally just 10-30 on MLB Pipeline, minus Tarnok). I feel like this would at least get the Yankees attention, even if it doesn't fit the all-knowing surplus value model. But maybe it wouldn't, maybe we would have to upgrade Wilson to one of our big names like Kyle Wright or Anderson? Who knows? All I know is that what glitters is not always gold, and brevity is certainly not the soul of wit. But to be fair, who knows in that regard either? All I know is that there are more things in heaven and earth, Enscheff, than are dreamt of in your sabermetrics.

Will this suffice?

You didn’t drop enough non-Braves names.

I am going to have your membership to our prestigious writers guild revoked...unless you pay another $99.

Your inconsistent application of your own rules is laughable.

actually, he came at you about Soler’s defense.

you shifted it to gotcha stuff about how he was anti-stats previously. Now it has run full circle and you’re back to talking about membership subscriptions again.

My membership into the Internet Baseball Posters Association has nothing to do with some clown buying a lifetime membership to the Internet Baseball Writers Association.

Please try to keep up.

In 1000 years we will look back on clv vs. Enscheff the same way that we look at Arius vs. Athanasius of Alexandria today. It will have ramifications that will reverberate throughout the rest of history. In fact, it is such a pressing issue that we should do what they did.

Enscheff can be Athanasius, clv can be Arius, Chosen One can be Hosius of Corduba, wupk can be Alexander of Alexandria, Pacheholic can be Eusebius of Caesarea, and I guess I'll be Constantine since this is my idea. Excommunications will be handed out swiftly to the losers. We'll call it the Council of Sabermetricaea.

Wasn't expecting references to Athanasius and Arius when I came here today.

Brewers apparently listening to offers for Josh Hader. 4 years left of team control. Since they're still in their contention window, obviously they'd be looking for a team who will seriously overpay including major league ready pieces.

I read the Mets are seen as a fit with Brody being Hader's former agent, though there are no reports of actual discussions between the 2 teams. Would be such a Met thing to do. I hope it happens.

We could use some bullpen depth. We should get after it

This is good work
