Member when Republicans had a hussy fit because Kaepernick and Nike. Well they added 6 billion in value since then. But do please go and complain about cancel culture.

But it's the dems who'll get it voted down. By my math, with 17 yea votes already basically locked up, that would mean that all the remaining 217 Dems would have to vote Nea to shut this down is all 197 Reps want this bill. And the bill would just fail.

How exactly does that change based on who I vote for. Trump is President when this is happening so I dont see how this is a reason to vote for him. Both sides have a lot of crazies. You arent going to vote for Biden just because the KKK supports Trump. This is an OP-ed, going to go out on a limb and say controversial opinions are allowed in OP-eds generally.

Seriously, the just ran Cotton's editorial calling for use of the armed forces on the demonstrators. That's what an editorial page is for.

Absolutely amazing. Just about everything that needed to be said. And it needed to be said by a cop who meant it. I was pessimistic that this was going to bring about anything more than a bandaid to get people to stop but this has change my outlook to optimistic... for now. Lets see how the response is to it. I didnt vote for Trump and I refused to vote for Hillary but I was happy when Trump won because this is what I imagined would happen. Not the speech but the mass protests/rioting. I also expected Sessions marijuana crusade to backfire and speed up legalization. I expected Trump goons to show up to fight the protesters/rioters but that didnt happen how I thought it would. Change doesnt come willingly. The big secret is they have been training your kids in school to react this way. Many of the emotional response you see are learned reactions. There are a lot of legit upset people out there and people who are legitimately upset. You all know this is a topic I spend A LOT of time on. I see a lot of virtue signaling and people doing this for social reasons. That frankly disgusts me but I guess it means the tide is finally turning.

Top Pentagon officials ordered National Guard helicopters to use what they called “persistent presence” to disperse protests in the capital this week, according to military officials. The loosely worded order prompted a series of low-altitude maneuvers that human rights organizations quickly criticized as a show of force usually reserved for combat zones.

Ryan D. McCarthy, the Army secretary and one of the officials who authorized part of the planning for the helicopters’ mission Monday night, said on Friday that the Army had opened an investigation into the episode.

Two Army National Guard helicopters flew low over the protesters, with the downward blast from their rotor blades sending protesters scurrying for cover and ripping signs from the sides of buildings. The pilots of one of the helicopters have been grounded pending the outcome of the inquiry.

I would advise taking a scalpel to qualified immunity rather than a sledgehammer. You have to strike the balance between preventing interest groups from hijacking the government with lawsuits and giving a tool to protect people from violations of their rights.
 
And I agree with that 100%. People can and will abuse the system to go after cops for bull**** reasons. I believe they even have a charge called "legal terrorism" to some of the creative techniques the crazy sovereign citizens do. There was something in place before QI that I didnt care to read up too much on because I just dont see QI being neutered. People should be held accountable for frivolous lawsuits against cops. Problem is a lot of people legitimately dont know the basics of law and will end up trying to sue out of sheer ignorance. If it actually happens it will embolden the crazies to antagonize cops seeking lawsuits and more time than not they will be found in the wrong.

That honestly sounds like the perfect between a rock and a hard place scenario for the pilots. Unless they can show they did it out of animosity for the protesters then I dont think they should be the scapegoat.
