116th Congress

Republicans really are all about making it as difficult as possible to vote

Across the board

House GOP leaders plan to sue to block a remote proxy voting system set up by Democrats for use during the pandemic, calling it unconstitutional.

Bloated government admins make it impossible to earn efficiencies.

One of the left's worst talking points is we havent invested in education. More money will not solve the issue

Administrative bloat is a yuge problem in our educational system (all levels) and medical system. Of course there are entrenched interests who benefit from this bloat. By and large it doesn't serve the public interest. Not a sexy topic for politicians and there are political costs to taking on entrenched interests.

If we are worried about bloated spending and where it’s going

Let’s look at the defense budget too

We could pay kids for getting good grades and it would be cheaper. I dont understand what is so expensive. If I wanted to teach kids how to do math I need an pencil. Some paper. Uhhhhhhhh what else.

1970 gas was $.25 per gallon

It is more expensive because everything is more expensive.
Though sticker shock alarming a scratch the surface tells a totally different story
In fact while the cost of public education has risen ~30% everything else is sitting at ~100%
Groceries, car parts, health care etc etc etc
Not many around anymore that remembers 1970
If you look at the grievances of last years teacher strikes one prominent item was funding for supplies.

While the funding for the militarization of our police has skyrocketed --- the funding for public schools has rotted on the vine.

Another victim of "starve the beast" governance
where in the end everyone loses
But
In the short term, the investor class counts it's money.
For a little while at least
We all know how that ends
Dont we

I think the changes that need to be made have to originate in the Congress.
Who in Congress , Senate or House has put anything on the table addressing this ?

and, where will all of the people working in the defense industry go to work once this is addressed ???
That to me is the $700 billion question

“The U.S. military budget now stands at $736 billion dollars,

which means the Pentagon spends as much money on

defense as the next ten countries in the world combined,”

@Pappiness

He says the “adoption” from Cuba was legal and 6 years ago

while the US gov own website says there has only been 1 legal

adoption from Cuba in the last 19 years. A female adoption.

So yeah, this does not seem fishy at all...

why do they lie
//////////////

I once had a conversation right here with a single male poster age 30ish that claimed he was a parent
hmmm

the above conversation was "pretty parallel " (In my best Larry David voice)

lol, i remember the convo...

I said something like "i wouldn't send my kids there"...

and then you were like.. "you don't have kids! why are you lying!!!"
