The Coronavirus, not the beer

The reason why America isn’t recovering from COVID-19 as quickly as

other countries is because we are a country that values

individualism over collectivism. Nobody here wants to do anything

that is a minor inconvenience to them in order to protect their neighbors.

On the good news front we have some states that have really brought down their positive % results:

CT: 1.3 (7 day moving average)
MA: 2.4
MI: 2.0
NJ: 1.5
NY: 1.0
RI: 2.0

Deaths per million:
NY 1607
NJ 1467
CT 1196
MA 1142
RI 852

These are the top 5 in the US, which you praise. Meanwhile, here's the ones you criticize...

AZ 172
FL 148
TX 76

The gaps aren't closing either.

This is nothing but political for our resident conspiracy theorist

its important to look at the composition of cases since the death rate for under 65 if effectively zero and hospitalization rate is minimal.

You know all this but its just a continuation of your lack of good faith.

the way I see it...states like TX, FL, AZ had an enormous advantage...which is time...they got to see what happened in so many other places and basically opted for a policy that consisted of keeping their fingers crossed...I wish them and your state the best of luck...yall gonna need it

oh there was no advantage. Therr was complete mismanagement of nursing homes.

To act like that isn't the biggest, and really only story, is well showing a lack of good faith.

yeah...I agree on that...the big question for Florida and some of the other states is the extent to which what is happening to younger demographic groups eventually happens to more vulnerable groups

I also think that the doctors are figuring out some better treatments which will also work to keep the death/cases ratio down

more testing also works to lower the death/cases ratio

so we have 3 factors (at least) that suggest the death/cases ratio will be lower than the numbers back in April

And we won't be sacrificing our elderly population in nursing homes.

Minor details.

My state has been relatively flat for the categories that matter for 2 months...

They know how to protect their elders as opposed to the 'Si se puede' states.

The thing is...we all knew that this virus specifically crushed the elderly from the experience in Italy. Makes you wonder what the hell the north east states were doing?

Building a narrative? Could it be that malicious?

As with the mobs burning down their cities, and police brutality in cities, and black poverty in big cities...

Dem leadership continues to fail
