we'll see...I think it is likely the deaths data will turn up substantially in the next few weeks
 
I think we can safely stop pretending that any of us want more people to die. That is ridiculous. We all have opinions on how best to prevent more deaths. I personally think we should minimize exposure until we have a vaccine. There is a lot we still don't know about the virus, and, due largely to that fact, I think it is unnecessarily risky to shoot for herd immunity.

And a lot of places have shown they can bring down infections/deaths to very low levels. Dozens of countries have succeeded in doing this. Si se puede.

But Trump has broken people.

More deaths = bad for Trump

More economic carnage = bad for Trump

There are many who want max pain. This is quite obvious based on how they seek bad news with glee

I do not believe that is true of anyone on this board. I'm sure it is true for a select few, just like it is true that there are people on the right hoping that more people will die in the hard hit blue areas.

I'm pretty sure many countries will end up having better outcomes than us both with respect to economic outcomes and health/death outcomes.

We're going to be down there in the lower left quadrant grouped with Brazil, Belarus and a few others.

This idea that comparisons of all nations are valid is another leg of insanity that is pushed. There is just no way to adequately do that without so much noise that your comparison is rendered almost useless.

All we know is that it was obvious who needed to be protected. A few states failed to do that and it shows in their numbers. Lets see how the other later to show states resulting from travel patterns do.

Yes. Clearly the people concerned with death rates, wearing masks, and keeping people safe are the ones that don't care about human life.....
