GDT 8/10/20 Twit’s new righty lineup?

Ender is the only CF on roster if they want no part of starting pache clock

Have to think they're beyond worrying about Pache's clock at this point - promoting him (or anyone else for that matter) now isn't going to cost them anything.

They've got to be looking for a taker for Ender - even if it costs them a little money. They're trying to play a balancing act and keep the clubhouse happy, and Ender's a pretty big part of that clubhouse "chemistry" FWIW. Not DFA-ing him has more to do with keeping the players happy than it is about the money. If AA could find someone to just take his money this year, I think he'd pay at least half of what he's owed for 2021 plus the buyout.

The question is what exactly. If he’s hurt he needs to go on the IL. If not he needs to play. If he’s not good enough to play then he needs to be replaced.

Truly odd indeed. If Ender is so bad he can't play vs RHP, then he probably needs to go and allow Culberson to back up CF. The more likely scenario is Snit foolishly thinks Duvall is a better option vs RHP despite the .750 OPS Ender put up against them in an injury plagued 2019.

Ender's 2019 slash of .239/.339/.413 is more than fine when coupled with plus defense in CF. His career line vs RHP is .288/.341/.407, or exactly in line with what he did vs them in 2019. He literally hasn't changed.

Meanwhile, Duvall is sporting a 2020 line of .143/.188/.357 vs RHP, which is nearly identical to Ender's .194/.286/.258, so it's not even a matter of riding the small sample size hot hand.

There is literally no justification for playing Duvall vs RHP over Ender. Not a single statistical argument can be made, regardless of sample size. It is truly baffling.

The Braves are downgrading the defense for zero gain on offense...all because Duvall popped a couple HRs early. Pure and utter stupidity.

That doesn’t make sense. If the Ender decision was coming from up top I would think he’d be DFA’d for Pache. If Ender isn’t good enough to play vs RHP he’s not good enough to be on the roster.

Too much guaranteed money next year to out right cut him.

To conserve pitches, he might as well just start each PA 3-1 and go from there.
