The Trump Presidency

yeah, no **** dummy, the SC ruled on that

i obviously was talking about term limits in that sentence

you're gonna be in for a rude awakening when you get to the founding fathers when it comes to how they treated different skin colors while writing that document you claim to love since you're hung up on that though

I think him locking people up based on their skin color qualifies as breaking a law...

"But Trumps a facist!"

Lol

Except he didn't break the law, he did a heinous act, presidents have unprecedented power during war time. Again, what he did was horrible. But Trump is lockign people up based on their skin color too. You think ICE is locking up illegal european aliens?

It was legal so it was ok is always a classic defense.

Slavery was legal too.

The holocaust was legal.

FDR presided over a free country fighting against nazi Germany and decided it was prudent to lock people up based on what they looked like.

Defend it all you want... but I always raise an eyebrow at democrats who love this guy so much.

epic subject change? me?

you do realize the topic of this thread is trump and his presidency right?

we were talking about him

you brought up fdr

that is called a subject change and it was done by you

I always raise an eyebrow at democrats who love this guy so much.

again

you're in for a rude awakening going through the history of this country

but it's weird where fdr is the only one i've heard you have this type of line in the sand for lol

Bc your boy is supportive of churches being shut down... and at his own convention had memebers of his party removing "God" from our national anthem. There is a clear disdain for Christianity from the left.

Nobody cares that Trump isn't a Christian himself... what we care about is he isn't actively trying to oppress Christianity in the country.

Why this is difficult for you to understand, I do not know.

I think Sturg is right here. Biden would have already locked up my vote if the Ds weren't hell-bent against religious freedom. The issue of abortion is virtually a lost cause. It's a sacrament for the left. No bending there. That's already a hard pill for me to swallow but with the consistent march to regulate, oppose, silence, not defend, folk like me being able to hold and express historic, orthodox views without the threat of being "canceled" or litigated against, is making what was hard to now near impossible.

Please explain " the consistent march to regulate, oppose, silence, not defend, folk like me being able to hold and express historic, orthodox views without the threat of being "canceled" or litigated against, "

Thank you

We were not just at war with Nazi Germany, we were at war with Imperialist Japan.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_territories_occupied_by_Imperial_Japan

Japan had control over 20-25% of the population of the entire world. during WWII. They were a much bigger threat to America than Nazi Germany, so don't try and rewrite history.

Roosevelt shouldn't have interned US Citizens. That was wrong, he was given bad military advise and didn't react to solving it.

He was facing a harsh reality and acted poorly that's fair. He should be dinged for doing something bad.

But we're not talking about FDR, we're talking about the sitting president making a comment about 12 more years. SOmething that no "liberal" would think of because they'd assume that Trump would be held to the constitution.

The driving force of the internment of the Japanese was then Attorney General of California (and future Chief Justice) Earl Warren. In his memoirs (1977) he wrote that he:

"deeply regretted the removal order and my own testimony advocating it, because it was not in keeping with our American concept of freedom and the rights of citizens... Whenever I thought of the innocent little children who were torn from home, school friends, and congenial surroundings, I was conscience-stricken... t was wrong to react so impulsively, without positive evidence of disloyalty."

It was a terrible injustice.

Japanese Americans did fight in Europe in the 442nd regiment. It is the most decorated military unit of its size in United States military history, over 9,000 purple hearts and 4,000 bronze stars. Future United States Senator Daniel Inouye (who lost an arm in combat) served in that unit.

When Trump refuses to leave office after two terms, ill be right here with ya.

Until then, I don't get caught up in the daily Trump outrage I'm supposed to be caught up in.

i love every freak out and warning from you is worried about slippery slopes

except where a sitting president says they should be president for longer than the law allows

yeah...there is a wee bit of asymmetry there...but hey we all have our biases

The examples I provide are actual things that have happened... not fanciful hypotheticals that trigger you every other minute. Gotta be exhausting being so consumed by someone you'll never meet.

By the way, the most logical explanation to any 12 years talk is a Trump victory, followed by his son or daughter for next 8 years.

But instead, yall gotta have another freakout of the day of something that is never gonna happen.

Only one president - the socialist - has ever done it.

We amended the constitution shortly after to ensure it doesn't happen again

yeah

he preaches about how the 2nd amendment is needed to

and freaks out when citizens are fed up with a system that seems to not work for them and views them as less than equal

it's strange as **** to em

this is by far the even dumbest point you have been trying to drive home while this debate happens

congrats
