If folty threw mid 90s for more than 50 pitches, why isn't he in Atlanta? On what planet is a mid 90s Folty not better than a guy making nothing who the pirates dropped?

That's what you do. Ideally you are not moving the top guys in your system. For me that is Pache, Waters, the Catchers and maybe Shewmake. The rest of the guys you deal from.

I would have thought someone would want the long term potential (7th inning guy?) and control of Ynoa over some of the other guys traded today.

Braves could have beat the Padres package but it wouldnt have been for the guys you think it was.

Yeah i think Waters has some bust potential but damn, Cleveland couldnt even get Patino or Abrams back? Prellar did pretty well keeping them and Gore.

I mean if Folty is in the mid 90’s, that’s better than any back end crap pitchers like Malone we could have acquired.

AA is smart. They keep the fans in the dark so much it breeds frustration. Maybe Folty has been looking great, maybe Hamels is finally close. Maybe they think those two guys give them a better chance to win than most of the pitchers they could have acquired.

We really don’t know. Also....maybe they are full of ****e.

I mean if Hamels is close, and Folty is throwing mid 90's, that's probably better than anything we could add. But could be just be GM speak.
 
This year is crazy enough That Folty coming up and winning a series MVP in one of the playoff series could happen. I shall believe until we loose in the first round for the 10 straight year.

I doubt we could do that deal and keep the catchers and Waters. One of them would have had to be in it. Padres traded a good amount, not like they traded scraps. More surprised Indians went for quanity over quality package.

Indians also prioritized immediate help with guys like Quantrill and Hedges.
 
Not sure why people are giving the Indians flack.

They're trying to move away from the Indians name. So that means any Indian imagery including teepees and Flying Flags.

It's possible. Folty is such a wild card. I really don't understand him, and it's hard to evaluate Hamels' health. I don't necessarily trust it, but it's hard to know.
