GDT: 9/22 Fish @ Braves : Time to FINNISH the Fish

So would you guys rotate the DH to finish the season. Allow some guys to rest legs by not playing defense. Ozzie excluded of course. Let ender have a few runs in center with neck off. Riley at first and hech at 3rd so FF can DH.

Keep everyone hitting but gets them a little rest.

Serious question. Will Ronald name is son after himself? Thus making him Ronald Acuna II and not Jr? Would the jersey change? Would the current one be more valuable?

He would still be Junior. He'd be the second if he'd been named for a family member who wasn't his father.

TDA also needs 1-2 days off. Not as DH...off.

Anything show up in Wilson's data from last night that could give us even a tiny bit of hope he found something new?

Looked to me like he was the same pitcher he’s always been, he just had a perfect night locating the fastball. It happens.

Agreed, it would take a lot more for me to be optimistic about Wilson long term. Just curious if the data shows anything different.

As far as I can tell, as long as the Braves get the 3 game series at home that's all that really matters.

This idea that they "match up" better vs some teams or others is hard to justify.

He’s never been as wild in the minors as he’s shown in his MLB stints

The lack of control is the thing that absolutely shock me about the kids we are developing.

Wright has 31 IP and 21 BB.
Anderson has 26 IP and 14 BB.
Toussaint has 24 IP and 16 BB.
Ynoa has 21 IP and 13 BB.
Wilson has 12IP and 7 BB.

With that said, Fried walked 12 in 26 IP in 2017 and 20 in 33 IP in 2018. He started to develop when he figured out how to control it last year. So there is hope that these kids can figure things out. Then again, there's the Newcomb example of someone that never figured it out. Soroka is the only recent prospect to come up without control issues.

Newk is another level of control issues. Not only does he walk guys because he nibbles. But then he likes to throw balls in the left hand batter box on a regular basis. I wouldn’t compare him to anyone.

ESPN, apparently. Rated them the 4th best lineup of all the playoff teams behind the Cubs, who are 2nd.

I mean, the hope can come from the fact that Wilson just proved he can succeed if he executes. So can Wright. So can Touki.

Guys don't need Fried-level stuff to be valuable MLB pitchers...just look at Ian Anderson. Their margin for error is just smaller.

i thought, wow, Cubs offense must be much better than i thought.
91 wRC+. 23rd in the league. much worse than I assumed.

Given their players, they’ve actually been particularly terrible.
