The Biden Presidency

Except the fact that only about 1k of those jobs have actually been filled. The rest were just projected jobs needed throughout the process of building the pipeline. Out of those 1k jobs, the majority were temporary. There were only 50 listed as permanent positions. The pipeline is a terrible thing. All of them are. They can leak enough oil to practically fill an Olympic-sized pool without triggering their leak detection system. That very thing happened not that long ago. Just like coal, it is time we move beyond pipelines and find safer methods to provide the same damn thing, and this sort of thing will force it to happen sooner, which will create jobs to replace the ones that were lost (not even close to 11k).

Your governor saying some interesting things this morning. Hope Manchin aint upset with him talking to the press like that.

Both of them are nuts. I think I dislike Manchin more because at least Justice had the balls to change parties.

We have plenty of both. What we need to stop doing is putting MORE money into doomed industries. Soon as we start doing that, the money will flow in alternative directions and other options will emerge. It is how it has always happened, and it is how it will happen with these two issues.

Energy is not a doomed industry.

Its quite necessary actually as California currently can't power all their homes

Wanting to switch entirely to clean energy is admirable. It's also somewhere between unrealistic and naive. Solar panels and windmill blades are environmental disasters. Lithium batteries are worse. Nuclear isn't politically correct. Hydro is subject to the whims of environmental studies. That doesn't even get into the waste created by making IC cars obsolete. Forcing all automotive energy use to the existing electric grid will make some people rich, but it won't do good things for the environment. We just aren't there yet.

Classic defeatist attitude. Why bother changing, it won't work now.

Oh it can work. Just do things like ban air conditioning, or quadruple the cost of electricity, or place a hard cap on each household's electricity usage. I think it's likely that cost will be used to implement a defacto limit for commoners so restrictions aren't imposed on our betters.
Of course we could just be realistic about using nuclear, but that's too much to ask.

Of course energy as a whole is not what I was talking about. I was talking about specific ways of producing energy.

This is not about switching entirely right this instant. It is about moving the funding toward a more promising future instead of propping up old and doomed industries.

Using Nuclear doesn't solve all the problems. It is part of a total solution.

The media is planting seeds for America to go to war against its own citizens.

The useful idiots - many on this board - will cheer along as they do

Lol

Yes, it’s the left wing that’s brainwashed and leading the charge for this lol

I know you hate the word, but you’re doing that “g” word again lol

In a shocking turn of events... Goldy has no concerns about a call for another war on terror... But this one turned on American citizens.

He is a very good citizen

Ughh another insurrection happening tonight.

I'm sure the Biden team will get on this ASAP

I’ve been saying a war on Americans has been happening for decades

But you really are an idiot and don’t pay attention

It would be cool if you would have an argument or debate without your obvious and predictable 3rd point being telegraphed

It’s exhausting

Just false equivalencies and fake outrage that’s so obvious where you are leading

I’d rather you just start there

You must be awful at chess lol
