Reports: Marcell Ozuna Arrested For Domestic Battery

With Ozuna and his wife’s history, I wonder if AA was preemptive enough to put some language in the contract regarding a situation like this. I doubt it, simply because I can’t see Ozuna signing a contract like that, but it would be nice.

Donaldson is clearly an enchilada short of a combo platter, so I would have placed my wager on that line. But that's only because Donaldson can become so unhinged over next to nothing. When it comes to domestic abuse, I think appearances can be very deceiving.
 
I think we owe him the contract unless he goes to jail. You have to think with his resources he’ll get it pleaded down to a non felony. Olivera got paid with a felony conviction.

I want him gone.

Our only savings are likely the length of his suspension.

I know there are insurance savings for injury. Doubt there is evil asshole insurance.

I have a hard time believing the Cubs are going to be sellers (at least at this juncture). As for trading for anyone, I don't think we have the prospect capital to land a considerable upgrade.

One thing I'm curious about is if the state will charge him even if his wife declines too. Not sure how all that works since the cops witnessed it

Haniger would be a nice get, but the Ms are .500 and only 3.5 games out of first. So will be awhile before they sell, if they do

In most states, Georgia included, they can prosecute without victim cooperation if there is evidence to proceed. Usually, that means physical signs or witnesses.
 
Very scumbag of him if wasn’t self defense. Talk about getting a super high (contract) and a super low for both their lives. It’s a very sad, sad situation…thank God the heroes in blue were there before **** got uglier.

The Ozuna long term deal appears to be AA's first big time mistake. Will that lead to him breaking character as Braves GM to make a significant move to make up for it?
