The Obesity Thread

I'd still wager there's a lot that goes into you that you don't fully know. Pesticides on plants, chemicals given to animals while they're being raised, etc. There's a lot that goes into you that doesn't make it on the label.

I'd also wager there was a lot more research that went into the safety of the Covid vaccine than went into a lot of what has gone into your body through what you eat.

It's more than that though. Do you go to restaurants and stores? Those places are regularly treated with pesticides to keep insects and rodents problems at bay. Do you live in an area with 5G? There's no long term study into what those signals do to you.

Basically what I'm getting at is a long term study of the Covid vaccine is an odd line to draw. We know what's in it. We know how long it stays in the body. We know what has happened to people after it has been given to them and cleared their system. We know more about it and have a better grip on its long term impacts than we do other things we encounter every day. So insisting on a long term study of it isn't really a intellectually consistent point.

And products created with very little or no oversight by people mainly motivated only by profit.

There is a ton of oversight into food material.

To act like there isn't is.... hard to believe to be kind.

Back on topic-

Signed up for a food tracker last night.

Its a good way to see where you stack up on your normal consumption day to day.

Turns out I'm consuming too many fats, not quite enough Carbs, and protein is a tad light.

For 9 bucks a month, if I follow it I'll be down 9 lbs in 8 weeks.

White Privilege.

Ate what I wanted to over the holidays. Havent looked at the scale because I kept fairly constant with my workouts.

Took a few days off for the flu\Vid or whatever, but came back sooner rather than later and I think it helped me boost my recovery a bit. Still dry coughing some, and my run pace is down a tad.

What do you do when you run?

Consistent heart rate at 140-170 for 1 hr or are you a sprinter?

Just remember to listen to your body. COVID attacks your heart and respiratory system. If you stress them too hard you could do hard damage or worse.

I do CF 6x a week, my body is pretty used to that kinda stuff. Probably depends a lot on your baseline for "stress"

I know, just listen please. It's a common thing to be pushed through a wall. Recoving from COVID isn't a time to push through that wall. I won't stress this point any further. You'll do what you want. Just hope you take care.

Exercise is fantastic for everything from recovering from an illness to even a hangover.

This advice is awful when given to an athlete.

Thank you for your concern.

****ing athletes are dying around the world. You'll say it's the vaccine but several of them were unvaccinated.

Stop pretending like you're a doctor. I'm trying to be a decent person and warn someone of potential huge risk they're dealing with. As someone who's had COVID and knows the recovery of it, I know it can heavily tax your respiratory and heart system. Not to mention the potential brain fog that can lead to focus issues. **** off and keep on not leaving your house loser.

What is your fitness level Zito?

I have done 8-10 mile runs while sick repeatedly.

The board record is clear and you've been wrong on almost everything so forgive us, the people that get things right, when we laugh off your 'advice'.

Now its time to get back into the kitchen. Someone ordered a double stack.

I love seeing things like this. Completely destroys the genetics nonsense.

If you want it, you have to work hard, and you can have it.

Speaking of which I've put on a few too many lbs over the last year... Need to get back in the groove

The genetics thing is such a complex issue that people either tend to use as an excuse or else completely disregard. Some people are able to eat whatever they want, not work out, and never gain a pound. My brother is that way. It's genetics.

Some people can eat fairly well, work out, and yet find weight loss is difficult.

So with genetics, except in rare cases, it's not a matter of can you lose weight, it's a matter of how difficult losing weight will be. So it's not an excuse to keep from trying to lose weight and get healthy. At the same time, I find it's not something that should be discounted all together. For some even a modest loss in weight is a monumental task that requires dedication on a level many of us wouldn't be willing to give.

Ultimately, I'll applaud anyone who is trying to get healthy and stay healthy.
