Official 2022 Offseason Moves Thread

I thought they would of really outbid us but it was so close that he looks like an idiot. And you can tell he’s salty.

He is super salty, no doubt. As sad as I was the other day, I feel better knowing we did everything we could to get a deal done. At the end of the day, it takes 2 to make a deal. Either Freddie or his agent clearly dropped the ball. Thank god AA stuck to his guns and made the pivot.

Freddie looks worse in that uniform than I imagined he would.

After listening to the Chipper interview and reading part of that story, it's just a damn shame how it all unfolded. Pretty clear his agent did him a disservice. He played a dangerous game, as Chipper put it, and got burned. Looking forward to Olson. Still wish we had both of them. Or I at least wish Toronto had thrown $200M at him. ****ing Dodgers. Maybe 38-year-old Freddie will still be useful and can be our DH for a year in 2028.

I don’t see him ever coming back. He was throwing shade at AA so there’s definitely hard feelings there.

He’ll be back in six years after things have cooled down and he’s won another ring or two, plus being in the twilight of his career and not demanding big money.

He will never be back as an active player. If we were willing to pivot now, which I would have definitely caved and re-signed him to be fair, we won't open a door in six years. Next time we see him in a Braves uni will be as a guest instructor in ST.

What? You mean like we did with Glavine? Like we did with McCann? Like the Mariners did with Griffey?

This **** happens all of the time.

Freddie just don’t strike me as the kind to keep hanging on till he’s 40.

Depends if he's close to any milestones with a possible HOF in his future. Pujols is close to 50 now and I assume the only reason he's still looking for a job is try and get to 700

Sure, but we are not there. We don't know the landscape of 2028. In 2003 we didn't know Glavine would be back in 2008
