Around the Majors - 2022 Version

The Braves just started Arcia and Heredia in the corners. Would JUp be an upgrade vs LHP?

2021 xwOBA vs LHP
Upton .380
Heredia .335
Arcia .269

He could temporarily fill the same role for the Braves that Pujols served for the Dodgers.

bold of you to assume snitkers wouldn’t play him full time.

The only place an Upton platoon would make sense is DH. And that would mean having Ozuna in the field. I’m not completely opposed to that, but I’m just pointing out that Upton is much worse defensively than any of our current outfielders.

Man, I just don't think I can handle signing an actual downgrade in OF defense. That would probably light the fuse for real. I'm willing to downgrade offensively to upgrade OF defense.

Hope no one shows Snit this. Cubs haven’t let him face the order a 3rd time. Who knew that would lead to success?

Apparently the Phillies feel like their way to the division title includes adding our former bench pieces that couldn't cut it - first Johan, now they've traded for Dustin Peterson.

When was the last time they actually DEVELOPED a major league piece???

The Phillies seem to be on track to continue being the Phillies. Hopefully the Mets are also keen on emulating their season from last year.

Seiya Suzuki has started his MLB career with absolute insanity. He sure would have looked good in a corner OF spot.

Obviously a sample size issue but .414/.581/.897 early with 4 homers and 11 RBI... 27.9% walk rate and a 20.9% K rate... a cool 288 wRC+

Bill James is floating an idea/future rule change that hitters should only be allowed two foul balls after the batter takes a strike two. The third foul ball would result in an out. Anyone else like this idea?
