Is any one of Kyle Davies, Chuck James, Buddy Carlyle, Jorge Campillo available?
You laugh, but Carlyle is in the Mets' minor league camp...
Kyle Davies is in the Indians' minor league camp...

Breaking down THURSDAY box. Losing 7-0 (ugh) to McCann's Yankees.
Hale fails to make it out of the fifth, allowing three runs (earned) in 4.1 innings.
Avilan cleaned up his mess and has still not allowed a run this spring.
Jaime pitched himself out of the mix with four walks in 1/3 inning. Two runs scored, but Ryne Harper came on and struck out two to close out the inning.
Another shutout inning for Kimbrel, another shaky outing for Vazquez.
Schafer, JUp and Doumit had doubles, but no one had two hits. Simmons and La Stella had errors, La Stella booting his only chance
Uggla 0-3, K
Underreported story this spring: failure of prospects to nail down last 2 (3 while we go with 4 starters) bullpen jobs. Vazquez and Jaime yesterday. We need to scan the waiver wire with a liitle more interest than usual this year. I don't think someone who has not pitched in the big leagues should break camp with the big club unless he has a good spring. Our "big four" RP's have, but has anyone else?
You can't go by just the games, but I agree. Of all the guys that could step up, none really have.
Buchter has been pretty good after some rough early outings. In his last four games, one inning each, he has given up 1 hit, 1 walk, 1 HBP and struck out 6.
Thomas has pitched well too. His overall numbers: 6.1 innings, 5 hits, 4 walks, 11 strikeouts. The walks are high, but his performance last year does not indicate he has control problems. The strikeouts per innings numbers are impressive.
If that's how you want to take it, fine... but again, way to actually address the substance of the post because you're upset your comparison was terrible. Please enlighten me... what about his college and minor league career makes you think he's going to be a very good MLB pitcher? Or are you just going to keep going with the argument that anyone can succeed, regardless of their minor league career?

MLB history is full of guys that were great in the minors but had terrible MLB careers. But on the other hand MLB history is full of guys that had average minor league careers but had good MLB careers. It's IMPOSSIBLE to determine a guy's MLB career by looking at his minor league career. FACT!

BJ has had a really solid spring. If this guy can just hit his career norms the offense is going to be awesome this year.
Lol so basically you're just going with blind hope and nothing to back it up. Good to know.
Uh-huh.![]()
BJ put a good swing on that ball up the middle. Good to see.

I just went back and watched it and it was a nice swing and he got hosed on that call at 2nd. He had his foot on the bag before the tag on his ass.
Isn't that something that can be reviewed now?
