GDT 6/23/22: Braves vs Giants - Thursday is the New Sunday

Wright’s command has been ****. Gotta perform better when we give you 7 early runs. Now the win is in jeopardy.

Almost 37K for a noon game on a weekday? Impressive (if that number is remotely close to being true).

I’m there and has to be tickets sold. Good crowd for a Thursday afternoon but maybe 28-30 actually here. Not bad when traditionally this is when you might get a small crowd. That’s the benefit of season ticket sales.

How did Wright's analytics look today because he did not seem sharp at all -- 10 hits, 3 HBP, 1 BB in 5.1 IP

5.76 FIP

You can say that the 1 BB and 1 HR by itself weren't bad. And that the Giants got "lucky" with a .529 BABIP. All of that is true. But Wright had a paltry 6.75 K/9 and you could see that with his inability to finish hitters off with 2 strikes. He was off today.
