Legal/scotus thread

I’m quite frustrated by the discourse around SCOTUS. I obviously don’t love that the side I disagree with is essentially in charge. I also think that McConnell did a genuinely wrong and indefensible thing with not allowing Obama to fill Scalia’s seat. But the idea that the Court is going rogue and Justices should be impeached or more Justices added is political extremism at its worst. Disagreeing with a decision doesn’t just mean it’s indefensible. At the end of the day, Trump won in 2016 and the Kavanaugh and ACB nominations were the consequence to that. If Democrats don’t like that, they should have done more to not **** up the 2016 election so bad that Trump was able to somehow win as the more Populist candidate.

The cry of judicial activism is funny. Take the abortion case. Some would argue overturning Roe v. Wade is judicial activism as it's overruling decades old precedent. Others would argue that striking down Roe shows judicial restraint as it's judges giving the power to make the decision over to elected officials and away from themselves.

No matter how a court decides, its going to be accused of judicial activism by the side that doesn't like the decision.

So republicans are saying we need to force citizens to give birth so they can have a supply of workers to fund social security

Hmmm

It’s weird that the Republican Party forcing births to work for the state isn’t being screamed about somewhere by you

Seems like a bunch of red flags for you

Well, if you weren’t an absolute fraud that is

Just to be clear...

Do you actually believe Republican opposition to roe is that it removes forced labor for the state?

Leftists live in pure fantasy land

It's tough to keep up with delusional takes though... Did you ever get around to explaining how this ruling was fascist?

Sure you know why you believe what you believe, right?

uh

sure

as you go find a video on libs of tik tok and act like that person is writing policy in this country lol

lol yes they filled the entire bingo card!

"coup"

"constitutional crisis"

"suppress the vote"

Democracy is hanging by a thread!!!

a sitting member of congress agrees with gold that the court is fascist!

perhaps one of them can explain why? Surely they both know why they believe what they believe
