Grissom is older than Harris…
Folks may want to pump the brakes a bit on the guy.
It was such a small sample size but him killing A+ last year was impressive. You could easily have made an argument he deserved to start the year in AA this year.

Any chance we see Grissom at 3b? I love to read into coincidences, and Alexander was traded the same time Grissom gets promoted
Grissom should be playing both corner OF positions on a semi-regular basis moving forward.
Probably not. Justyn-Henry Malloy was promoted at the same time so he'll probably be manning third.
Malloy wasn't playing 3B when he was in Rome - almost strictly a 1B/DH guy it seems - putting a TON of pressure on his bat.

He had 51 games at 3B in Rome this year, versus 17 at DH, 0 at 1B, and 3 in LF. Those latter three games were all in the past week, and were seemingly a prelude to his promotion; it's quite possible they'd planned to promote him, but didn't know whether Alexander (a much better defensive 3B) would still be on Mississippi's roster.
So, while there are questions as to Malloy's long-term viability at the hot-corner, he had been Rome's primary third basemen this year all season.

The big questions for Grissom have been in-game power and long-term defensive home.
In 2022, he's shown he can get to that power more without sacrificing his sophisticated approach to the strike-zone. Long-term defensive home is still TBD, though—so I understand a bit of skepticism—but he still feels more like a 45+, if not 50, versus the straight 45 that FG dropped on him. He might be older than Harris, but it's not like he's age-challenged relative to his level. Either way, the remainder of 2022 in AA should tell us a lot.
If he can turn into a Zobrist-type player, that would be huge for the Braves. That's not quite the same as calling him the Heir Apparent to Lord Danbae just because he put up a .900 OPS in High-A.
I don't know En..before the deletion of ok prospects. I championed him early. I whiffed on Pache so what do I know? Lol. I like his hit tool more than most...we will see. De facto number one now though.Grissom is now the top prospect in the system after Harris and Strider graduated, so obviously folks around here are going to overrate him...he's #1!
If he turns into a poor man's Zobrist that's still very useful...if Snit can figure out how to deploy him, which certainly isn't a given. Problem is, those types of players are available as FAs every single year for a few million bucks, which is pocket change to the Braves, so hopefully he turns into more.
Since he's all we have to follow now that the system is terrible folks will talk him up in this Braves echo chamber though.
Guys take off all the time. Maybe Grissom is what everyone thought Shewmake was. Unlike waters, as long as a kid can actually hit a baseball he has a chance. It’s when you hear “if he can learn how to make contact” that you an almost always write a kid off.
