8/9: Red Sox game 1

Braves selling Mets tickets at 40% off. Guess tix not selling well...

My bet is school starting that week and attendance gonna take a small dip… and we need to peel off about 5 wins in a row to get people to come back out from under their beds ….

School night. I didn't think about school, which does explain ticket sale

You see, coastal elites like to be educated, and they like their children to be educated. They think that being educating children puts them in position to be more successful in life.

It's probably a liberal lie though.

Jordan just said the Sox got strong at 1B during the deadline.

Do you think he really thinks Hosmer is a good player, or is he just being the rah rah guy in the booth?

Yeah, I agree. A Top 5 offense should be looking to change their approach because they had a rough time vs Scherzer and deGrom.

Or they could realize that they should make certain changes against guys of that caliber because their strength is not going to match up well. It's kind of what happens in professional sports. But that's neither here nor there.

I thought Acuna was getting out of the groundball prison, but unfortunately, it looks like he may not get parole

Yeah, baseball teams routinely change their approach...happens all the time!

Remember that time the Braves won a championship by hitting a bunch of HRs off good pitchers? It was a long time ago, but it can happen.

Are we really going to be stuck with Brian Jordan for weekday series while Francoeur moonlights with TBS? I hope Bally finds a better plan for the 2023 season.

Braves offense averaged 6 runs per game in the 3 games not started by deGrom or Scherzer.

Well that's not good enough. They should be able to instantaneously change the approach they've perfected to the point of being a Top 5 offense day to day because they might struggle vs an elite pitcher.

I really wish the Braves would stop trying to get extra base hits. I wish they would put the ball weakly in play more to score more runs.

I've thought Contreras is gonna turn into a pumpkin all season, but maybe it's time to just realize we have a young, stud catcher
