Around Baseball

It's too bad Fernandez is in our division. If they don't trade all these players off, the Marlins are going to be pretty good soon.

This is from rotoworld.

I'm not sure how you move him to 1B with LaRoche there.

Just gotta wait it out.

Ryan Zimmerman left Saturday's game against the Braves with shoulder soreness and will undergo an MRI.
Zimmerman made a horrible throw in the fourth inning that cost the Nationals two runs. Errant throws from third base are nothing new for him, and neither are shoulder issues. A move to first base needs to happen soon.

Is Jose Fernandez the best pitcher in baseball?

If I had to rank the Top 10 pitchers to pitch a game seven of a quinching game, I would go:

1. Kershaw

2. King Felix

3. Verlander

4. Scherzer

5. Price

6. Wainright

7. Zimmerman

8. Fernandez

9. Strasburg

10. M.Moore

I don't know man...Fernandez is really damn impressive. I get that he has to do it for longer but I don't know how you can say anyone but Kershaw is clearly better than him.

I'm sure you think that but 30 starts in the big leagues isn't enough for me to say a guy is the 2nd best pitcher in baseball.

Wasn't Kershaw the best pitcher in baseball at that time? I think sometimes we have to take a long look at what we are seeing and make a conclusion. The guy just has everything you need to be a dominant starting pitcher. health aside I don't see how he isn't at the top (aside from kershaw) for the next 5-10 years.

Kershaw had a meh rookie year in 08 with 21 starts. Since then he has been as dominant as they get. Still at that time you still had Lincecum at the end of his run, Verlader, Halladay, Lee, etc being the best pitchers in the game. It really wasn't until 2011 that Kershaw became one of the top pitchers in baseball imo because that was the year he soared past the 200 innings limit. He's averaged right at 230 or so innings per year the last 3 years. Ad I think that's honestly what you have to do to be considered one of the best. Obviously have really good stats but also pitch deep into games.

Fernandez is definitely on the right path but it will likely be 2015 before he gets on that level.

I understand your argument but I just don't agree with it. I'm sure most would agree with you but I just feel that if you are that special player that you show it early. I'm sure guys thought after 30 starts that Kershaw was one of if not the best pitcher in baseball. I bet right now NOBODY wants to face Fernandez (aside from our franchise player).

Omar Infante just took a Heath Bell fastball off the face. Hope he recovers quickly.

Matt Moore might need TJ, something similar to Meds.

Shook his arm a little bit, threw a pitch or two, then had to come out.

Hope its just a strain or something.

So does my fantasy team.

I turned down a trade of Kimbrel/Sabathia for Moore last week. Regretting that now.

SF finally lets Belt play full-time and look at that....dude can mash. 5 bombs already

Less rough start, more of a continuation of last season's end.

You don't have to sell me. Mac is going to fall off of a cliff soon. Might have a solid year this year but that wasn't a contract the Braves should have ever entertained.
