It's too bad Fernandez is in our division. If they don't trade all these players off, the Marlins are going to be pretty good soon.
Is Jose Fernandez the best pitcher in baseball?

I don't know man...Fernandez is really damn impressive. I get that he has to do it for longer but I don't know how you can say anyone but Kershaw is clearly better than him.
I'm sure you think that but 30 starts in the big leagues isn't enough for me to say a guy is the 2nd best pitcher in baseball.
Wasn't Kershaw the best pitcher in baseball at that time? I think sometimes we have to take a long look at what we are seeing and make a conclusion. The guy just has everything you need to be a dominant starting pitcher. health aside I don't see how he isn't at the top (aside from kershaw) for the next 5-10 years.
Kershaw had a meh rookie year in 08 with 21 starts. Since then he has been as dominant as they get. Still at that time you still had Lincecum at the end of his run, Verlader, Halladay, Lee, etc being the best pitchers in the game. It really wasn't until 2011 that Kershaw became one of the top pitchers in baseball imo because that was the year he soared past the 200 innings limit. He's averaged right at 230 or so innings per year the last 3 years. Ad I think that's honestly what you have to do to be considered one of the best. Obviously have really good stats but also pitch deep into games.
Fernandez is definitely on the right path but it will likely be 2015 before he gets on that level.

Omar Infante just took a Heath Bell fastball off the face. Hope he recovers quickly.
Mac is off to a rough start with the Yankees.
Less rough start, more of a continuation of last season's end.
