GDT: Braves @ Cardinals w/ a Chip on their shoulder.

Harris and albies back-to-back is nice. Want that lhp for Harris? Well, albies get ls a shot at him too

DOB said on his podcasts that he expects Olson to pickup an extra “couple dozen hits” with the new shift rules

I don't know if that's optimal. Getting on base is not to be sneezed at, of course, but I think the risk/reward on Olson hitting the ball in the air is a better bet for success (at least in his case).

I don't know if the shift will make that much difference. Just from the bits-and-pieces I caught watching games on MLB over the weekend, there seemed to be a few more balls that aren't really laced sneaking through the middle, but that's hardly a scientific sample.

Just looked at the Cardinals' bench and it features none other than Taylor Motter, who the Braves had in Gwinnett for part of last year. Classic "cup of coffee" guy who seems to hang around and put up pretty good numbers in AAA but turn into a pumpkin when he faces major league pitching.

My 4 game in observations

This team is going to mash
Our pen is loaded
Snit still has no idea how to deploy our group of LF / DH / Catchers
I can't believe we gave up our best trading chips to get a guy that is going to play like 90 games
Offense and pen may cover up some gaps, but we really need to get Wright (and Fried) healthy
Oh and Acuna is flat out BACK.
