There is also the added value of keeping Murphy away from league rivals like the Mets, Pads, Cards, etc. I sure am glad we don't have to see Murphy 16 times a year.

Brewers have the second best record in the NL. Presumably we wouldn’t want to face Contreras in the playoffs either, so I think this point washes out.

FWIW, I don’t think the Braves should worry too much about the other players they gave up.

Kyle “Opening Day Starter” Muller is what he is

And…
Tarnok (who I really like) just got placed on the 60 day IL with a shoulder injury

I will agree with this.. Billy is the only one we gave up worth a crap. Muller might turn into something, but giving him up doesn't upset me.. what is funny is the A's didn't even get the second best player in that trade.

Even if they didnt need Bill b/c of Shea. Could of used Bill to get something back at least.

Even Ruiz has played really well for the A’s.

.360 wOBA (.363xwOBA)
0.5 WAR

This is the equivalent to a .550 wOBA once controlling for having to play for a sewage depot team.

The #Braves today reinstated LHP Max Fried from the injured list, and placed LHP Lucas Luetge on the 15-day injured list with left bicep inflammation, backdated to April 14.

Harris did some agility drills on the field yesterday. He’ll likely be cleared to start swinging a bat again today or tomorrow.

Did not realize Shelby Miller is a reliever on the Dodgers now. Freddie and Shelby reunited -and also the guy traded for Shelby in Heyward.

I thought it would be interesting to compare the Hunter Greene extension against Strider given they are similar service time and age. Strider is the superior pitcher, so you’d expect him to earn a bit more on the backend, but the contracts are otherwise remarkably similar.

I think the consensus on the board is Strider’s extension is the riskiest of AA’s. I still question how necessary it was given the Braves controlled him through 2027, but it’s at least in line with the market rate.
