I do agree with you there - a full year of AA would surely be best - but if he’s like strider and isn’t a risk to get sent back - then bring it on.
We are going to need he and Soroka ASAP I believe. And maybe it’s Vodnik’s time too.

True tale. there’s not much left on the farm to trade. I don’t even know what it would take to get a decent starter.

Why not? He has 21 frames above low A ball at this point!

Seriously though, it appears they want to challenge him and he aced his first 2 starts in AA.

He does seem to be on an 80 pitch limit in his starts. Will they lift that once he gets to Atlanta (I'm not even sure if I am joking)?

Never in a million years would I have thought it possible AJ would make his debut this year but it’s certainly trending that way if he keeps finding success.

If you want a reason to get REALLY excited about this kid, look at his splits. He has 33 PA against him with a runner on base. 13 K'd (39.4%). 3 BB (9.1%). No one has a hit. Not one.
With the bases empty he gives up a hit to 1 out of every 4 batters.

It certainly looks like he is free and easy until there is a base runner and then he has a pretty unique ability to turn it up a notch.

That was quicker than I thought. He’s still yet to give up a run. If he has 2 good starts in AAA he’ll get the call.

I’m not sure on this. I get the idea that these guys only have but so many bullets. Don’t waste them in the minors.

Still. This is sss theater. I worry it is a rush.

If he struggles at the majors when he gets scouted. Like Harris, when you rush people don’t expect it to go perfectly

Agree.

Cedric de Grandpre with yet another great start.

6 IP, 5 H, 0 ER, 2 BB, 6 K.

On the year: 26.2 IP, 18 H, 5 ER, 7 BB, 33 K. ERA down to 1.69.

He’ll be 21 all season, but certainly looks ready for Rome.
