I mean I am not injecting bleach in my veins. But is seems like an easy move. Yates was out there for over 20 pitches on a hot day. You knew you were going to yank him if he didn’t get Joc. Just do it one batter earlier. It is not 3d chess. Just have a lefty and righty warming and make your move when it is required. Most likely they don’t even go Joc if hand is ready in pen.
 
Sending a LHP to the mound to face a LHH in a tie game in the 9th after a guy has walked the bases loaded is not micromanaging. It is competent managing.
 
The only reason snit didn’t go with Hand is because he forgot Joc was likely to PH. That’s the issue…snit is clueless.
 
I looked at Yates' stats and hadn't realized how bad Yates has been. He has decent K numbers and an insanely low BABIP. But he's been walking the world.

He's basically a replacement level player and AA should have no regrets about DFAing him at any point.
 
Yates and McHugh both have options next year at 5 million and 6 million I’m guessing we decline those and reload the bullpen.

I agree. Those 2 might not make it but I am not sure Anderson will be either. I doubt he pitches again this year. But you could see Soroka or winas make it as our long man/emergency starter.
 
Anderson has been throwing for a few weeks now and will be throwing off a mound next week. Wright is fixing to start a rehab assignment so AA will have plenty of options going into the playoffs.
