REAL FOOTBALL Thread

Wild Week for the loser temas in the NFL, Pats upset the BIlls, Bears backup QB beat the Raiders, Panthers didn't lose. Crazy.

Add in 5-1 Lions Losing, either the Eagles or Dolphins will lose, standings are running pretty close to the middle now.

Is it that the NFL is in a down period in terms of talent or is there just a lot of parity? There seem to be a ton of pretty bad teams this year.

The top QBs of recent memory have mostly aged out. Brady, Rivers, Brees, and Big Ben are retired. Stafford and Wilson are a shell of their former selves. Matt Ryan fell off a cliff. Rodgers is old and hurt. For most of your 2010's, your top 5 QBs were mostly a rotating door any given year because the talent level was so deep at QB. Brady, Peyton, Brees, Rodgers, Rivers, Big Ben, Wilson, Ryan, Stafford, Romo, Luck, Eli, and Cam. Really a golden age at the QB position.

But now, the new crop of QBs haven't really wowed aside from maybe 5-6 guys, and only like 3 guys have been consistently at the top each year, and those guys are Mahomes, Allen, and Burrow. Lamar and Tua have had issues staying healthy. Hurts only has the 1 amazing year so far. Herbert has been erratic the last 2 years. Watson was really good before injury/suspension, but doens't look nearly the same. T-Law has yet to break into the top 5. No one else is really worth mentioning at this time. Maybe Purdy gets into the discussion by the end of the year.

One thing that I think is going to be looked back on in this "era' is we had 2 of the best coaches in the history of the game.

Currently Belichick and Reid are sitting 3rd and 4th in all time wins.

7 coaches have 200 wins or more. 4 of them did that at a clip of 64% or higher, they're the top 4, Shula, Halas, Belichick and Reid.

This year Reid passed Landry in the all time wins Took Landry 418 games to get his 250 wins. Took Reid 390. Belichick hit his .300. but didn't do it at the same speed as Shula.

Still believe he moved the ball well. I would t expect purdy to be perfect. Niners did not have trouble moving the ball without Trent or deebo.

I mean Purdy didn't **** the bed he was fine. If their defense was lock down they still win. But it wasn't. Instead the Vikings did very well. Both kickers left points on the board,

I'm torn. I want to the Titans to lose and get the highest pick possible to take Marvin Harrison Jr.

But it's also exciting to see Levis succeed.

Wild to me how far the Packers fell, first few weeks of the season they looked good. THen after the handling by the lions, they've been bad to worse, losing the the Raiders and Broncos (after the bye) now getting spanked by the Vikings. THey're looking like they'll be sailing to a top 10 pick at least.

Ridder on the bench. He was apparently cleared from concussion protocols but didn't go back in. I'm interested to see how it's portrayed after the game. Will it be the Falcons being cautious with Ridder or will it be the Falcons trying to find a spark on offense.

Think it depends on if we win or not. If our offense sparks with Heineke and we win, I don't know what they'll say.
