2016 DRAFT Signing Tracker ... FINAL, JULY 15

Callis reporting that Wentz will sign tomorrow for $3,050,000.

Wow, I was hearing nearer to $3.5 so that's good news! That should mean that as soon as graduation happens up north we should get the other 2 guys in the fold

That is a good amount.. less than the 3.2 that was being reported.

that leaves us 6.5+ million to sign Anderson and Muller

Riley Pint signed for $4.8. All things considered, if Anderson breaks $4 I'll be surprised and disappointed. Should have plenty of money for Muller.

Very good. Curious to see where they put him in the field. Played C in high school, but played a lot of 3B (and some 2B) at Western Oklahoma.

He is one of the exciting late signees... his stats were huge and we've had good luck with western OK players before.

Muller is signing for $2.5 million. That leaves over $4 million for Anderson or, hopefully, less than that for Anderson and more money to spend on guys later in the draft.

We all assumed Harrington would be a pick that saved money. Turns out, he's $110k OVER slot.

Kyle Muller is signing as well. He's getting $2.5 million. Drew Harrington signing for $900,000.

The Braves scouting department and front office are masters of the game!!

I really don't love the Harrington pick now that we've seen the numbers, thought he'd be a little underslot.

If we were going overslot there, I would have liked someone with a little more upside.

Hmm.. we should have a lot of money to sign some of the round 10+ guys.. We have almost 5 million left to cover Anderson and Cumberland.. then about 2 million that can be used to sign all the seniors up to round 10. I seriously doubt we use that for a bunch of college seniors.

I tend to agree.. curious to see what Quinn or Hayes is going to bring in.

Did you not just his performance Sunday against a young talented UCSB team? Doubt the kid sticks as a starter but he has a devastating slider and good command to both sides of the plate. Didn't win ACC pitcher of the year by accident.

Being the conference player of the year doesn't necessarily speak to your ability to project as a major leaguer; from his write up - he sounds like a mid-level bullpen arm. Valuable sure, but not really someone to pick in the 5th round and go overslot to sign.

Of course if he makes the pen and pitches well for several years as a 5th round pick, that's plenty good enough to justify the investment, I just would have go after someone with a little more upside there.

Well his numbers weren't even the best on his own team lol but I get what you are saying. You know what they say about lefties though and he has the Polish on him already to fast track through in the pen.

The thing with Harrington is, he could be fast tracked to the majors by going to the pen. but ultimately, the organization would get more value from his pick if he stays as a starter.

The Braves likely see someone who they reasonably think can be a solid lefty out of the bullpen, and if you get that from a 5th rounder -- you call it a win every day of the week.

I just don't see the need to go overslot / 5th round for that guy. But I'm a guy giving an opinion on a guy who I've never knew existed before I saw his name in the draft; suffice to say take my thoughts with a grain of salt.

I think Harrington is ultimately a case where we have to accept the Braves had a higher opinion on than we did. It's not like they got duped into signing him overslot. Time will tell if they're right about him, but I'm not willing to go out on a limb and say he isn't worth the bonus he got.
