2016 Trade Deadline Rumors and Moves

We "could" build a trade around Viz and someone like Cabrera for Giolito . That would be a way better deal for them and gives them cheap controllable upside high velocity arms

no we couldn't.. Viz is not in the same league as Miller and Cabrera is just out of AA....

This all makes sense. Acquisitions on short-term deals are not a fit.

"Moving toward"? I think we've been "moving toward" a Jim Johnson trade since the moment after we signed him as a FA.

I think JJ is about the last piece we can trade. I don't see any offense being movable.. Unless we can find a taker on Neck. Not sure the FO would sell low on Ender right now.

Seems like there's a buyer's market in the OF. I'm losing hope that Markakis can be moved.

I'd still like to take a flyer on McCann if the Yanks pick up a significant portion of his salary. Yes he's on the decline but a veteran catcher like him could be valuable for our young pitchers going forward, him and Flowers.

I agree that now is a bad time to move Inciarte. Hopefully he starts hitting vs RHers again and can be traded for an MLB piece (like a decent MOR starter) in the offseason.

I wouldn't mind a guy like him. that is something to draw in a crowd to the new park too.. he is a great fit with Flowers.

I don't know how draft pick compensation is going to work, but I'd be tempted to offer Kenley Jansen a front loaded contract with the goal being to flip him in July. That would be one way to spend our budget, not hurt us in the future, and assist with the rebuild.

he will go to a contender most likely... but if we could, it wouldn't be a bad idea. if we are good some how, then we have a great closer.. if not, we have a very tradable asset.

I still see the Braves being very reluctant to sign a free agent saddled with a QO unless they are swooping in to get someone who's market evaporates (similar to the situation with JUp and Cespedes last year). Braves 2nd round pick would be in the high 30s / low 40s and they're first round pick will be so high that it's almost certain to be an under slot signing. They're in a great position for an overslot signing with that 2nd round pick and should be very reluctant to squander that.

I still hope we move Frenchy.

I wonder if Adonis would have any value as a bench bat who can play 3B and LF on a cheap deal........not talking big value....really mean ANY value.

JJ isn't owed that much. I hope we pay his way and get a B prospect.
