Mish: Sources indicate Braves discussions with Marlins for Realmuto include a pkg built around 3B Austin Riley & P Michael Soroka. Marlins are still listening to offers from other clubs.

Oof, thats a big package.

Mish: Sources also say the Phillies have joined the pursuit for Realmuto although they are considered a longshot. Add all of this up and it’s pretty evident IMO at this point JT being dealt to an NL East team is certainly possible if the Marlins price is met.

This is probably why we haven’t heard much... I bet Realmuto is still our real target

Ugh, I guess today is bad news day. Although, I'm really not too bummed out about the Nats signing Corbin. I really don't want to trade Soroka though.

Mish: It would be hard to categorize the Braves as the “favorite” for Realmuto because a deal is not imminent, but sources say Atlanta continues to pursue Realmuto as much as anyone. Even after the McCann signing.

Does this mean we are going with Duvall in LF? This is weird.

I'd rather give that kinda package for Haniger but maybe hes not available?

But gotta give up something.

That's ~$85M in prospect value for JT.

What did we determine JT's surplus value to be? $60M? More if he can improve his framing?

I'm not the high guy on Riley around here, but that seems like a clear overpay...and it's still not enough?

DOB: Am told that reports of #Braves offering Riley and Soroka for #Marlins’ Realmuto last summer were false and that there’s no validity to latest report that they’re offering those two currently for Realmuto.

Literally everyone knows his source is wrong here. Lol

I will say this almost certainly comes from the Marlins front office. AA's front offices are notoriously tight lipped. There is also the incentive for the Marlins to use the Braves to drive up the price in negotiations with other teams. It's also possible that what he's hearing is what the Marlins asked for, not that it's a price the Braves are willing to pay.

So I will take this for what it's worth at this point and not get too worked up.

Please no trade Soroka. If we do get Realmuto and sign a decent FA left fielder it would make for a very well balanced lineup.

I doubt the Braves can keep all of Touki/Anderson/Wright/Soroka, i'd rather use them in a trade for Haniger but not sure hes available.

Riley and Soroka would be an overpay though.

Wasn't this Mish guy the first to break the Yelich and Ozuna trades?

For some reason I remember him being "the guy" with respect to Marlins rumors.

If Braves sign another catcher are they going to carry McCann as a third catcher and bench piece? Or just try and retire him with a Braves hat?

Heyman: to this point the braves and marlins have had no serious trade discussions this winter regarding jt realmuto (at least not to the point where the marlins gave asking price). Atlanta signed McCann to go with flowers under the belief Miami wants to deal Realmuto out of the division
