If Camargo is really going to get time in the outfield, then Peralta makes a lot of sense for us as he hits righties so well. He just sucks vs lefties so having Camargo/Duvall to platoon with him would be good.

I think the D-Backs did pretty well in the Goldschmidt deal. Got two post-hype prospects and a third decent prospect plus a competitive balance round pick out of one year of a slugger. That's about as good as you can do.

Getting the comp pick out of Corbin will also help them a bit.

Their major project of course will be getting out of most of Greinke's contract.

I'm not entirely sure they're in for a terribly long rebuild with a couple moves - even if they can't unload Zack. May not work value-wise (not looking at the charts), but say the Yankees would like to add Ray's dominant stuff to go with Severino and Paxton and would give up Frazier to get him. Then they move Peralta for Newcomb. Their rotation becomes Greinke, Walker, Newk, Godley, Weaver with Duplantier and Widener waiting in the wings. Sign a vet or just go with Walker for 1B this year since they're likely just keeping the spot warm for Pavin Smith. If Lamb bounces back, he's at 3B, Escobar shifts to 2B, and Marte moves to CF.

They wouldn't need to spend on the rotation, 2B, Catcher, or either corner OF spot for awhile, Jazz Chisolm could factor into their 2B/3B/SS mix by 2021 if not before, and the only significant salary they'd have on the books would be Greinke.

Dumping Zack makes all the sense in the world from a financial standpoint, but I just think they're nuts if they think they're getting much value in return if they don't buy down a big chunk of his money - and most reports thus far say they think they can.

Just mentioned on XM that we're still "in" on Realmuto.

There has been smoke recently that we are "in" on him, but I don't buy it....don't see why we would have signed McCann in that case. Unless the plan is to move Flowers, which i'd imagine we'd be able to find a taker.

If AA sees he can’t get a really good upgrade in RF then the play could be to upgrade the offense elsewhere and if that is C then that’s it. Sign Markakis for a year and the team is a lot better then it was last year.

If the Braves cant get a biggish name outfielder, i kinda get the Realmuto interest IF true.

Maybe AA has decided he can`t afford a TOR so instead make sure you upgrade the offense to make the next step.

Get upgrade at 3B, C, LF, and bench.

Still to go...Get Realmuto & LF like Haniger/ Peralta / Brantley / Cutch

A lineup of Acuna, JD, Freeman, Realmuto, Haniger, Albies, Ender, Dansby could really overcome some inconsistencies inour youthful rotation and bullpen.

i would accept ...but part of it is because i rate Newcomb a bit lower than what the consensus in baseball seems to be

on the other hand I'm bullish on Wilson and Waters...i'd rather give up Newcomb than those two

All of those except Wilson are probably overpays.

Apparently Haniger isnt available, and i dont think we'd trade for JT and Haniger...

Yeah I agree, no way they trade for both. But JT would still be a smart buy if they see RF is gonna be a pain. Cutch and JT are still very possible though.

Interesting article from a Yankees site. They seem to think we match up as trade partners. They want Comargo for Grey, Frazier and a top 15 prospect.

While I doubt the Braves would trade Camargo, the Yankees and Braves really do line up pretty well for a trade.

Frazier would initially feel like a let down in LF, but he hasn’t really had a chance in NY, and he has hit pretty well in the upper minors.

I wouldn’t be shocked to see these 2 teams line up somehow, and I see Gray as the most likely SP target remaining for the Braves.

ESPN sports ticker said nats' president doesn't expect Harper to re-sign. As long as the Phillies or Mets don't get em, good news
