to be fair puig has totally killed the dodgers the last 2 years.

Totally killed?

As in posting a 120 wRC+ and 3 WAR/600 for a perennial World Series contender?

That kind of totally killed?

He may not be the best Plan A, but folks claiming he is some cancer that can’t make the Braves better are being foolish.

Puig continues to make sense in some scenarios.

sarcasm about his "bad personality."
they've been in the WS two years straight. i think he's fine.

AA met with a FA Starters agent today. Says that they are going to get together and put an offer together...doesn't mean they will sign today, or within a week, or 2 weeks...but says that market is heating up

DoB was asked that via twitter and seems to think it could be Happ

Could really see a quick push for Happ now following the McCutchen signing - even if AA has to give the third year. Maybe in that same 3/$50 million range if he'll sign right away.

If the money's not there to also get Brantley, you roll the dice that this takes Philadelphia out of the Harper bidding, and that he signs with the Dodgers. Would leave you with Pederson or CarGo as your corner OF options (to pair with Duvall/Camargo/Riley) unless AA can work out a deal with LA. Start shopping Julio in earnest, and try to upgrade the pen whenever you get him moved..

Pushing Newk to the #4 slot in the rotation (if he's not traded) may be the best way to upgrade things if Brantley gets his $20 million per. Folty, Happ, Gausman, Newk, the kids should give you a puncher's chance if Acuna, Freddie, and Donaldson can stay healthy.

Per Heyman: "Chisox, Braves, Phillies have been 3 of the teams on Michael Brantley. With Cutch in fold with Phils, and Harper still possible there, philly would seem less likely for now."

Source -- #reds have talked to the Braves about CF Ender Inciarte. Nothing is imminent, however. Club is talking to a lot of teams/agents here .

When they say club is talking to a lot of teams/agents here are they referring to the Braves or the Reds as the club?

"Marlins CEO Derek Jeter is “insisting” that a deal involving Realmuto must bring a quality MLB-level piece to Miami, per Clark Spencer of the Miami Herald (via Twitter). That lends further credence to the concept of Yankees youngster Miguel Andujar possibly being involved in a three-team arrangement."

Why? Why would a team with no chance to contend in the near future care about getting an MLB player in return?

The Marlins are going to be very bad for a very long time.

This is a question that I continue to ask myself, but rebuilding teams continue to do it over and over and over and over again. It blows my mind.

Corbin’s deal includes a $2.5MM signing bonus, per Heyman, and the following yearly salaries: $12.5MM in 2019, $19MM in 2020, $24MM in 2021, $23MM in 2022, $24MM in 2023 and $35MM in 2024.

Holy ****!
