lol...apparently on MLB Radio Frenchy said we're in on Harper

Was he just guessing or was he claiming to know something?

I actually think there is a non zero chance that the Braves could take the risk of signing Harper, because of his unique branding and marketability. What would that mean for Liberty Media? I don't know the answer to that.

If we were to get Kemp, he'd probably work really hard to get in shape and turn back the clock to gold glove form. Can't discount that factor.

I know it sounds crazy and hard to believe but if Liberty Media has intentions of selling at all then Harper would be a really good selling point to a potential buyer. And like I said earlier, AA leaving the WM early to meet with Liberty execs in Colorado is not something I recall the past GMs doing.

Word comes out that Liberty wants to sell the Braves. Braves pass on two guys who received team friendly contracts for RF. Harper is marketable and could potentially add value to an asset. It is happening.

Outside of an increase in BB rate and decrease in K rate? What exactly are you looking for in terms of improvement? His improvement wasn’t some minor amount. Projecting a .280 BABIP is perfectly reasonable.

He’s definitely not my top choice, but when deciding between a 25 year old who just made significant improvements in his BB and K rates vs an old guy like Markakis or CarGo, I think the choice is pretty obvious.

Frazier isn’t proven either, but I would be in favor of adding him if the value is right as well.

The Braves aren’t exactly in a position to pick up a sure fire 3 win guy anymore unless AA wants to pay for Haniger.

I'm saying the breakout 110 wRC+ projection in LF isn't very exciting for a team that's trying to contend and it would be, in my opinion, a disappointing result for a contending team filling it's one true hole in the roster during the offseason.

It's totally fine for a team coming out of rebuilding and still willing to turn over roster spots to flyers. Maybe that's where the Braves should still be considered.

I sort of think if they are going to make a move they ought to make a big one, because it isn't like the Twins have any incentive to give him away. We're not talking about Kolby Allard here.

Are the braves really likely to be sold? Wonder if author blanks would have interest

We actually refer to him as "A". "A" has been saying for a while now that all of the talk to sign McCutchen and Brantley has been a smokescreen. We are in fact formulating a plan to sign Harper.
