Because even though he wants out he still shows up and puts 150% every day and plays his ass off. Pushing for a trade because you don't want to be somewhere is perfectly fine. And it's an agents job to seek his clients happiness... not wanting to be there and still putting up fantastic numbers and playing your ass off anyway is certainly a good soldier mentality... but clv gonna argue any dumb thing he wants to

"Good soldiers" keep their mouths shut and do the job they're being paid for. It's not Realmuto's job to run the Miami Marlins, if he doesn't like what's going on with the team, he didn't have to sign his contract - nobody held a gun to his head. Showing up and putting forth the effort is what he's paid for - there are plenty of players who would rather be playing somewhere else for any number of reasons that don't air their issues in the media.

He absolutely has every right to voice his displeasure with his current situation - he's a human being like the rest of us - *itching to the media doesn't make you a good soldier or help the situation, it just makes it harder on everyone involved (including his teammates).

Wouldn’t it have been a much smarter move for future revenue and on field performance to wait on signing JD and see if the market wasn’t as strong for Harper and Machodo as they thought, and then offered one of them a 1-2 year deal at 30-40 million per and went with one of them plus Camargo playing 3rd instead of JD,Neck and whatever else they add with the supposedly 10-15 million leftover?
It may be a moot point if they end up signing a monster long term deal soon but sure seems like the owners aren’t into that anymore and the opportunity was there to try something like that.

Absolutely, and I stated that at the time. AA seemed razor focused on getting JD, and even admitted they considered him the main goal of the offseason.

If this offseason was deep in one particular player where a good value play was likely, it was the 3b/2b/Util type guy. The best plan may have been to focus on getting a cOF, and then wait to grab Machado or JD for a bargain with guys like Asdrubal and Mous as backup plans.

Of course, it seems the overall plan is to minimize the assumed risk by signing a bunch of 1 year deals, so they probably never felt comfortable focusing on any of the flawed cOF options in the first place.

Why would the marlin fans not be complaining. Are you suggesting that those fans are too stupid to see how enter is completely botching one of the last good trade chips they have.

We haven't heard complaints from what few Marlins fans there are - yet. Braves fans are complaining, Dodgers fans are complaining, Gnats fans were before their team moved on, etc.. The Marlins owe nothing to those people, and it's a little stupid to assume they've "botched" anything since we have no idea what their return for him will be yet.

So his value is increasing as potential suitors drop out? Will his value go up if he plays another half/whole season? Unless he has a monster first half, which is unlikely since no team will let him beat them, he will lose yet another half season of control.

And it should be clear that the fish aren’t going to get what they are asking. I can only assume that jeter thinks now that all the FA catchers have signed the dodgers and braves will battle it out for the only guy standing. However, both teams know neither team has to have him. So they can just wait jeter out and laugh at him when one of them steal JTR away.

You just keep getting dumber...

JTR was drafted by the Marlins, and his career is controlled by them via the arbitration process. He absolutely DID have to sign a contract with them...or retire from baseball at the age of 27.

Seriously, get a clue twit. Your sudden slew of incoherent rants defending the Marlins inept FO is especially moronic, even for you. Morons gotta stick together I guess...

there's a reason every player wants to get out of that organization. they're run like garbage and barely try and compete. signed stanton and shipped him right off. and now realmuto is only still a marlin due to the organization's previous ineptitude in other trades.

the franchise needs to move out of miami.

Looks like ~4/50 with escalators and at least 1 opt out.

Pollock for $12.5M per year seems like decent value.

Now they will get JTR and be projected as the best team in MLB. Must be nice to be one of the smartest and richest teams.
