Is it smart based on the metrics? Of course not. It's great and exciting for their fans though - their ownership and management is trying to win for them.
Who gives a *hit about whether it fits the new model? Being concerned about that entirely misses the point of being a fan - it doesn't make you wrong, it just makes you a lot less fun to be around a lot of the time.
