2019 Trade Deadline Thread:

" Two unnamed AA outfielders are also of interest to the Mets."

That has to be Pache and Waters, maybe Jenista.

If it's Anderson, Wright, Pache and Waters, hang up the phone!!

Sogard scratched in Toronto.

I’ve seen Morosi connecting us to him, I really hope that doesn’t happen.

If Arizona is really open to selling, David Peralta should be our top target. LH bat that would slot into our fifth spot and improve the offense, plus under control for next year then a FA. Perfect bridge to 2021, the latest that Pache and Waters should be ready.

Hmmm...while I don't believe "95%" for a second, I guess the OFs would be Jenista and...Harris? I don't know anything about Harris or the other non-Pache/Waters AA OF. Wonder if Anderson/Wright/Jenista/Harris is about right for Thor/Diaz

I’d hate to give up Anderson and Wright in the same trade but I would for Thor and Diaz.

Seeing Tampa is in Toronto, did this happen prior to or during the game? I remember Joel Youngblood being traded between clubs playing each other in the interregnum between games of a doubleheader, but what happens to Sogard if he's traded during the game?

Then Sogard exists simultaneously in two universes: one in which he's a Blue Jay and another in which he's a Ray. Based on the documentary BioShock Infinite, it's a very unpleasant experience.

After this series, i think Braves biggest needs in order are.

Starting pitcher then everyday outfielder then a bullpen arm.

We'll see if AA agrees or not.

I still don't really see the need for an outfielder. I think Duvall and Joyce are perfectly capable of providing similar value to Markakis and Ender looks like he is coming around. Our depth has definitely been undercut a bit, but I don't think the situation is dire enough for us to go out and trade for another outfielder.

That's the thing. If we get an outfielder it should be someone who is an upgrade over what we currently have. We actually have plenty of depth as far as outfield goes. But if there is an upgrade out there that can be acquired at a good price I'm for it.

We have good depth pieces yes, but in terms of everyday guys, if you can get a Peralta/Castellanos/Puig and the price is reasonable. I'm all for it.

I guess, but I wouldn't describe it as a need or something that I would be actively prioritizing. I like what I've seen from Duvall the past couple of days and I like having Joyce there as an option. Honestly, I think our lineup may actually improve with that tandem, as much as I love Neck. I'm also not too keen on paying the price for anything more than a rental, which would further limit the pool of candidates that I would consider.

To me, it just makes more sense to go after our obvious pitching needs. But I guess if we find a great value buy then it would make some sense to go after them. It does seem like a bit of a buyer's market for position players this year.
