2020 Trade Deadline Thread

Per Cory McCartney:

Was told not to expect much for #Braves ahead of Monday’s deadline. Few teams are in position to absorb money, and fewer are willing to eat it with losses amid pandemic. Remember, Atlanta had $197M drop in revenue year/year.

2020 Salary Added:

Joe Musgrove - $86,419.75
Mike Minor - $293,209.88
Lance Lynn - $308,641.98
Matt Boyd - $163,580.25
Dylan Bundy - $154,320.99
Alex Cobb - $293,209.88

Tommy Milone added $24,691.36

Not doubting your calculations. But where did you make these numbers? Mike Minor for example makes 9 million this year. 1 month of him would be that little? Even pro rated?

Prorated salaries are 37.037037037% of the full season contract numbers - those numbers are 1/12 of the prorated salaries.

I highly doubt that Milone is the only move we make.....At least I hope so...He does not move the needle an inch. someone that is averaging under 5 IP in his 6 starts. He is basically another Tomlin and Erlin. Still feel like we'd need another 2 SP's.

Freid
Anderson
Milone
Tomlin
Erlin

Yuck

We need 1 more SP then opener the 5th spot, bullpen is deep enough to do that. I doubt AA trades for 3 SP's lol.

My point is that Milone averaging less than 5IP is basically leaving us in the same spot we are now. You basically have openers in the 3,4,5 spots in the rotation.,

If he can add another cheap innings eater, and another SP behind that, would be ideal. Otherwise, if he only adds 1 starter, we are basically still left with 2 openers

Francisco Lindor's name has been mentioned in some preliminary trade talks, per source. There's no indication the Indians are planning to move him, but the possibility exists. Lindor has one more year of control before hitting free agency.

Indians are in a weird spot, doubt they can afford Lindor. But it makes sense to trade him and they are in contention.

Eh, Milone's better than Tomlin/Erlin SLIGHTLY but you arent wrong lol.

Bob Nightengale reporting that the Indians and White Sox are engaged in talks involving Clevinger....That smells like smoke and mirrors. The two teams are separated by 1 game in the standings and are division rivals. Notes other teams involved as well.

Maybe Indians leaking to try and drive up the price.

Heyman: There’s an increasing belief among teams Mike Clevinger has a good chance to be dealt. Indians have 6 very good or better starters, all on cost-efficient deals. Price is appropriately high. Braves, Padres, Yankees, Dodgers among many who’ve been in contact

I would CUM if we got Clevinger. Omg,
