2020 Trade Deadline Thread

I don't see them trading him, but man I really think Boyd is the type of guy where a change of scenery could turn him around. Get that homerun rate to level out, and you're looking at a mid rotation starter with excellent peripherals.

Would love to do Waters plus pitching, but I doubt that’s enough to get it done. Probably have to put a catcher or Shewmake in the deal, too.

I think Waters, a non-Anderson P, and one of the catchers is probably enough. But maybe i'm under-valuing Clev.

How does this help Cleveland this year though?

If they need hitting, who can we realistically offer that does help them this year? Obviously not trading Acuna, Albies, Freeman or Ozuna. They don’t need Swanson or Riley. I don’t think anyone else has any value to them.

Ender to help offset salary? But he hasnt really hit.

This is why I'm skeptical. They don't have Lindor much longer, so this may be their best shot

Maybe they would want Duvall instead of the throw-in arm? He would be an improvement over what they've had so far in the outfield.

Waters is better than any OF currently on their roster - especially in CF, and they won't hesitate to start his clock. He and Contreras add a TON of offense for them.

Waters and Contreras make their offense formidable - particularly with that pitching staff.

Waters and Contreras likely trumps other offers. Who's willing to offer that?

Don't know why the assumption is that Cleveland would want something g for this year back when the clear play to win this year is to keep Clevinger and deal for an OF.

Cleveland isn't going to consider plugging in someone with no MLB at bats to be an upgrade.

If they move Clevinger now, it's probably to re-tool and stay relevant going forward rather than try and win a fake title this year.

Seriously???

Duvall and Ender have absolutely NO value - please don't try to include them in trades with contenders. Being a little better than what they've got right now isn't getting you a TOR arm.

I would but not a lot else.

You guys realize Cleveland is leading that division and has the best pitching staff in baseball, right?

Wonder if this could be a blockbuster? Indians top prospect is a lefty 3B. Ran this through MLB Trade Values (not that that’s worth that much)

Indians trade

Clevinger
Jones

Braves trade

Waters
Wright
Newk
Contreras
Davidson

Valued as a moderate overpay for us but it is trade season and you have to give to get.
