2022 MLB Draft Thread

If this guy threw 96 instead of 94, he’d be a top 3 pick.

Not sure what else you wanna see at 20.

Relax.

I shoot for more projection. If he was 6-3 with broad shoulders I'd be stoked. I'm fine with higher risk at 20, I just want higher reward.

Your likelihood of going under slot has basically nothing to do with where you’re committed and everything to do with where you would have otherwise been drafted.

It’s not like a kid committed to ND ranked 140 would need to be paid 1st round money or else he’s going to school.

We're just going to have to agree to disagree. The relative strength of a college commitment clearly plays into where (and sometimes if) a guy is drafted. I doubt the Braves would have drafted him in the first if there was a big obstacle in terms of likely signing. The point I am making is that the magnitude of possible slot savings can be somewhat dependent on what cards the player is holding and a college commitment is just about the only card a high school player has. If the Braves low ball him, he'll just go to college and a Notre Dame education is a pretty valuable piece of sheepskin.
