2022 Trade Deadline

If Michael Taylor is the guy we are targeting then we might be in trouble lol.

Not real high on Taylor - particularly that contract - but he'd make the OF defense other-worldly. If Rosario isn't going to hit, at least you'd have the option of having Harris shift to LF and let Taylor patrol CF - with those two and Acuna out there anything hit into the OF might never touch the ground unless it gets over the fence.

I realize it would be nice to add a bat, but it's not like they need one desperately like last season - once Acuna gets it going again and Ozzie returns, the offense is arguably as good as any.

I’d take Harris in CF over Taylor.

I’d take Harris in CF over Taylor.

Doesn't matter who plays where - the point is there aren't going to be many balls that can even get into the gaps with those three out there.

The reason you'd slide Harris over is to allow him to focus a little less on defense and more on hitting - Taylor's going to give you what he gives you whether he's in CF or on a corner, but Harris might even hit a little more if he were moved.

Laureano fits the mold perfectly of an AA acquisition. He would cost nothing, he mashes LHP, and his underlying metrics say that he’s been a bit unlucky so positive regression might be due. He is also a good defender and can play CF. He’s basically another Duvall.

Laureano wRC+: 102

Duvall wRC+: 86

One of these players is above league average. The other is not.

Yet I'm wrong?

Why did you stop at 3 years? Because Laureano was incredible 4 years ago with a full bill of health. That's why.

Laureano is basically the only guy you have to gameplan around in Oakland now, btw.

He's a more dynamic player than Duvall. Classic case of Braves fans defending their own over being rational.

3 years is an ample sample size.
