Could be Shapiro turned it down?
But yeah this pick is a dud. I doubt the Harris campaign gets any kind of bump from this.
Bump?
PA was most likely going to be theirs with Shapiro as VP.
What a blunder.

1. If you control the manner in which currency flows, then you effectively control the currency. I could own all of the gold in the world, but if I don't have clear avenue to sell/trade it, then really what use it?
2. Is TikTok a US based platform? Cause the government has already voted to restrict our access to that and it's only a social media app. You really don't think the US government doesn't have the ability to restrict the crypto exchanges you have access to? Surely you aren't that naïve. Now are there ways around that if they do block them? Sure, but at that point you're talking about doing something illegal, and certainly the value would be suppressed.
3. It's already being mandated by the government. And the Dems want to mandate it further.

There is literally no other reason.
Congrats Democrats - You are the Jew hater party.
Just because you think you're Warren Buffett or Bill Ackman doesn't make what you're saying anymore true. There is nothing that the US Government can't regulate. Hell, you brought up gold as an example earlier and yet the US literally regulates the **** out of it as well as owning the largest gold deposits in the world.
I do think his stance on Israel (and ipso facto, him being Jewish) played a decent part in the decision, but the bigger cause here, imo, is his reputation as a blue dog dem. The Democratic party has taken far too big of a step left to attach a moderate to this ticket.
Of course there is simply the chance that Shapiro, Kelly, and Cooper turned it down, like Whitmer essentially did. It's a big ask of someone to put their political career on the line for a very risky tickets.
All former VP picks on failing tickets have pretty much their political careers tank after losing their elections. FDR is the only politician to really have any success after losing. I guess maybe you could point to Tim Kaine, but US Senator is likely where his career tops out.
Yes, we do know what it is. The problem is that you don't.
Yes, Bitcoin can be controlled.
You are not a tech guy and it shows. I was at one time a certified network administrator so I know a bit about security.
You actually thought Bitcoin was completely anonymous. It isn't.
You don't even know what a 51% attack is or how it works.
Picking Waltz is easily the first unforced error of Commala. Gift to Trump
Quite interesting that both VP picks were used as a double down (Vance with populists, Walz with progressives). I’m not sure what Walz offers Kamala other than being folksy and likeable.
Carps idea is what I've been seeing a lot.
All the serious Dems know this is a losing ticket and don't want to be attached.
Its something I threw out there a few weeks ago as well.
Can the US ban gold? Can you the US take my gold from me? I suppose they could if they came to my house with a gun.
Luckily, they'd have no ability to do that with my bitcoins
I think we're arguing 2 different points. At no point have I talked about banning gold or the government taking your BTC form you. You said the Government can't control bitcoin (or crypto in general). That simply isn't true. The government cab absolutely control the flow of crypto currencies, should they wish to do so (and they have already taken small steps in the area). It wouldn't be the gargantuan leap you are imagining it to be.
