I would have applauded Trump if he got rid of Moscow Mitch. But instead he did political favors for him and endorsed him time and time again.
How exactly would Trump have gotten rid of Mitch?
He could have atleast forced him out of Senate leadership position. He could have supported a primary challenger against him. Trumps influence has suffered since his second straight election of getting less votes than his opponent but he had near total control of the party while he was President.
